SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer issued a warning to motorized scooter and bike companies, tweeting a letter Friday night. In part it reads, "ongoing violations will result in revocation of your permit to operate within the City, or will serve as justification for not renewing your permit when it expires in six months... It is your responsibility to proactively move your devices within three hours... or it will be impounded."The companies could face an impounding fee of per device.Several riders told 10News they had no idea what the rules for riding and parking scooters were. They didn't know about the 300 freshly painted corrals around San Diego streets.Other infractions include riding on the sidewalk, riding two at a time, ignoring the rules of the road and dumping or parking scooters on the sidewalk."We enjoyed it but I got pulled over by two police officers, they said read the signs there were no signs anywhere," Rider Melissa Sherman said in frustration.The only sign you can see is the painted warning on the foot of the scooters, reading 'do not ride on sidewalk.'"You see them laying all over the ground, wherever, people don't want to take the responsibility of them so it is what it is, everybody has to abide by the rules. you know? SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are looking for a man described as mentally ill or under the influence of drugs.Sunday night at 8:58 p.m. someone called 9-1-1 describing a man acting irrationally. Police responded and found the Honda Accord matching the description of the call and tried to pull the car over.The driver flipped a u-turn and sped up to about 80 miles per hour, running three red lights down Governor Drive.Police slowed down to a safer speed and as they caught up to the driver they found the car crashed into the dead end fence.They say the man, described as Hispanic, in his late 20s, 5' 8" tall, wit ha shaved head, wearing a short sleeved shirt, a hoodie, and gray shorts took off. They believe he ran from the car.They searched the area, known as Rose Canyon Natural Park, and could not find the man.If you see him, police ask that you please not approach him and call 9-1-1. 918

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego is among the top cities for termites, according to a new ranking from Orkin. San Diego placed 11th among 50 other cities around the U.S., but America's Finest City wasn't alone. Los Angeles was ranked 2nd on the list. The company says all areas of the U.S. are prone to subterranean termites, but Pacific U.S. and coastal regions of the Southeast also have the threat of drywood termites. Subterranean termites swarm in the spring and summer while drywood termites usually swam in the late summer and fall. Orkin says termites find their way into homes because urbanization leaves fewer dead trees laying around. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego is already known as "America's Finest City," but it's the region's craft beer heritage that fans say make it "America's Hoppiest City."San Diego's East Village will pay homage to the area's craft beer past, present, and future with the Museum of Beer (MoB), slated to be introduced in spring/summer 2020.MoB will highlight beer, beer history, and the brewing process through high-tech, immersive, and hands-on exhibits, according to the museum. Virtual reality-based exhibits will also walk guests through a brewhouse, beer festival, and bring them face-to-face with iconic, San Diego brewers.Guests will learn about how beer is made, styles of beer, and, of course, San Diego's place in craft beer history.
