In a matter of days, living rooms across the country turned into classrooms amid the COVID-19 outbreak. That left some parents worried about whether their kids will still keep learning and be ready when school starts up again.Online platforms like Outschool are working to provide relief for them. "Families, now, are suddenly faced with a scenario, where they're trying to work from home, adjust their lives, but also keep their kids occupied in a way that keeps them in touch with their learning," said Amir Nathoo, co-founder and CEO of Outschool.Outschool is a marketplace of live, online classes for kids and teens."When we saw the announcements start to happen of mass school closures across the U.S, there was just this massive spike in enrollments in classes. That is still going on," said Nathoo. He says while they did prepare for an influx in students, they had no idea it would be this many. Since its 2017 launch, Outschool has enrolled 80,000 students. In just the last week alone, another 20,000 students joined the platform. The company is now looking to 1081

In his first TV interview since he was charged with sexual abuse last month, a tearful R. Kelly says he is "fighting" for his life.In a teaser for an interview that will air in full over two days starting Wednesday on "CBS This Morning," Kelly says allegations he slept with underage girls are not true and a product of "people," whom he did not identify specifically in the released clip, "going back to my past.""They're going back to the past and they trying to add all of this stuff now to that, to make all of the stuff that's going on now [feel] real to people," he tells Gayle King.At one point, Kelly points to the camera and says it would be stupid of him to hold girls against their will."Use your common sense. ... Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to; love me if you want. But just use your common sense," he says, raising his voice. "How stupid would it be for me ... with my crazy past and what I've been through?"Kelly then appears to begin crying."I didn't do this stuff. This is not me. I'm fighting for my f****** life."Kelly was indicted last month on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse -- a class 2 felony -- involving four alleged victims. The indictment accuses Kelly of sexual acts with three children older than 13 but younger than 17. There is no age range listed for one of the alleged victims. The charges say Kelly used force or the threat of force. His attorney, Steve Greenberg, has said his client is innocent."I think all the women are lying," Greenberg said after Kelly turned himself in to police. The charges span from 1998 to 2010, according to Cook County, Illinois, State's Attorney Kim Foxx.If convicted, Kelly faces three to seven years in prison for each count.Kelly has been associated with accusations of abuse, manipulation and inappropriate encounters with girls and young women for more than two decades. He has strongly denied the accusations. 1943

In Kentucky, bourbon is more than just big business, it’s part of the culture, influencing everything from the arts to the economy. Tourists Anna and Michael Kraczyk says their love of bourbon brought them to Bourbon Country. They're just two of the million-plus people expected to visit Kentucky this year, specifically for the bourbon experience. The Kraczyks say they plan on spending a lot of money during their time in the Bluegrass State. “A couple of thousand,” Anna says. “Yeah, a couple of thousand. It’s a great investment.” In Kentucky, bourbon production has increased 115 percent since 2009 and has grown to a multi-billion dollar industry. “When people come to town and visit us, they don’t just visit this location,” says Jeff Crowe of Heaven Hill Distillery. “They have a place to overnight accommodate, or they have to have a place to eat breakfast or diner or have another cocktail with their family in the evening.”Crowe says this American-made, barrel-aged spirit has created international interest, and believes the bourbon boom will continue to grow. “I think that explosion is now where near close to the final stages,” he says. “We’re excited about the future.” Now, there’s a new player in the market trying to cash in with new product. Kartik Kamat is making gin out of Kentucky-grown corn, mixing the flavors of his Indian heritage with his American upbringing to create Holi Gin. “I wanted to solve something in the distilled spirit industry,” Kamat says. Released in September, Holi Gin has been well received, medaling at competitions. Now, the product is available at some of the biggest spirit stores in the country.“We are our distributor’s fasting-selling gin,” Kamat says. “But it took us a long time to understand that we even had a product to get it over here.” This product, however, represents something much more than liquor. It’s the story of an immigrant living the American dream and perhaps putting Kentucky on the map for something more than bourbon. 2008

In an effort to avoid passing the coronavirus, the New York Stock Exchange announced that it is closing its floor and going to a virtual trading platform starting Monday. The closing of the New York Stock Exchange's trading floor will be until done until further notice. “NYSE’s trading floors provide unique value to issuers and investors, but our markets are fully capable of operating in an all-electronic fashion to serve all participants, and we will proceed in that manner until we can re-open our trading floors to our members,” said Stacey Cunningham, President of the New York Stock Exchange. “While we are taking the precautionary step of closing the trading floors, we continue to firmly believe the markets should remain open and accessible to investors. All NYSE markets will continue to operate under normal trading hours despite the closure of the trading floors.”The stock exchange is highly visible, especially in recent times as the Dow Jones Industrial Average has lost nearly one third of its value in the last six weeks. 1054
