SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Microsoft announced Wednesday that it will bring cable television content to its Xbox video game console over the upcoming holiday season, expanding the console into an entertainment hub.According to the company's press release, nearly 40 world- leading TV and entertainment providers such as HBO GO and BBC will stream their content through the Xbox Live service in more than 20 countries and regions.Users will be able to sift through shows online with the Kinect motion sensor device for Xbox 360 and Bing voice search, Microsoft said.To watch TV programs via Xbox as an alternate delivery system, customers have to already subscribe to the TV services and Microsoft's Xbox Live Gold service of 60 U.S. dollars per year."Today's announcement is a major step toward realizing our vision to bring you all the entertainment you want, shared with the people you care about, made easy," Microsoft said in the press release.Microsoft first entered the gaming console market in 2001 with the Xbox, the predecessor to the Xbox 360. BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhuanet) --  China is likely to test a new Internet protocol in the next few years in an attempt to further develop the country's Internet, senior officials from the State Council said on Friday.The country will put the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6)-based network into small-scale commercial pilot use by the end of 2013, and deploy and commercialize the IPv6-based network on a large scale between 2014 and 2015, according to a statement released after an executive meeting of the State Council that was presided over by Premier Wen Jiabao."The development of IPv6 is one of the most important tasks for China's Internet industry during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, from 2011 to 2015," said Hu Qiheng, director-general of the Internet Society of China.Analysts believe the transition from the latest Internet protocol, IPv4, to IPv6 is irreversible. This year, the pool of Internet addresses in IPv4 has come close to being tapped out, and the supply of domain names has run short.Compared with IPv4, IPv6 will offer more IP addresses and, for that reason, more devices will be able to connect directly to the Internet, said Microsoft Corp, one of the main technical supporters of IPv6.By 2010, China had about 278 million IPv4 addresses, according to data from the China Internet Network Information Center. BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur, the giant prehistoric predator, was even bigger and heavier than it was estimated previously, a new study found.The finding was contained in a study published Wednesday in the scientific journal PLoS ONE.Using three-dimension scanning and computer modeling, researchers analyzed five skeleton fossils of T. rex dinosaur, including "Sue", the largest and most complete T. rex specimen ever found.The analysis tipped the scale of "Sue" at 9 ton, some 30 percent more than it was expected."At their fastest, in their teenage years, they were putting on 11 pounds or 5 kilograms a day," said John Hutchinson of the Royal Veterinary College in London, who co-led the study.The larger body mass indicated the better agility and the stronger lower-leg muscles of the ancient monster, said the researcher."Sue" could have a top speed of about 10-25 miles per hour when it ran on the Great Plains of North America 67 million years ago, Hutchinson suggested.
