The move by Dick's Sporting Goods follows a series of decisions to scale back gun sales. After the 2018 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, Dick's announced it would stop selling semi-automatic weapons.A few months later, Dick's pulled firearms and hunting accessories from 10 stores as a test and overall sales increased at those stores. And in March 2019, the company pulled guns and ammunition from 125 additional stores. Deputies in Laurel County, Kentucky, arrested two women Thursday after a newborn was found on the floor of their minivan following a traffic stop. According to their arrest citations, Charolette Simpson, 69, and Rebecca Fultz, 32, both had warrants for their arrest. A deputy pulled the minivan over for traffic violations. Simpson drove for a quarter of a mile before stopping.When deputies finally got Simpson to pull over, they say Rebecca Fultz began struggling against officers. Officers say that it was 10 minutes before anyone told them that there was an infant inside the car.The child was discovered in the floor on a blanket. The car had no working air condition, and temperatures were in the 90s. The newborn was covered in insects and was wearing a soiled diaper. The infant was taken to the hospital. Inside the van were clothes with human feces on them and bag of garbage. Fultz and Simpson are both charged with criminal abuse. Fultz also received charges of menacing and resisting arrest. 1016

"They were there within eight minutes. The guy kept talking to me and stuff. I was going in and out of consciousness. He was keeping me up. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross violated his ethics agreement and submitted a financial disclosure form that "was not accurate," according to the Office of Government Ethics.Emory Rounds, the director of the Office of Government Ethics, wrote that Ross reported in his annual financial disclosure that he sold bank stock that other reports indicate he did not sell.That meant "the filer was therefore not in compliance with his ethics agreement at the time of the report," Rounds wrote.The watchdog group that drew attention to the report, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said OGE declining to certify a report "does not normally happen.""With OGE declining to certify, that's a pretty giant red flag," the group's spokesman, Jordan Libowitz, told CNN.Richard Painter, a former ethics attorney for President George W. Bush, told CNN he has never seen a Cabinet member's financial disclosure form rejected in this way.Instead, he said, agencies sometimes send a draft financial disclosure form to OGE for review.
