NEW YORK — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced new guidance for bars and restaurants statewide Thursday.The governor says bars and restaurants in the state are now only allowed to serve alcohol to those who order food. He also announced that all service at bar tops must only be for those seated six feet apart or separated by physical barriers.Cuomo cited a lack of compliance on social distancing and the wearing of face coverings in bars and restaurants across the state."As we continue our science-based phased reopening, the number of hospitalizations and our rate of positive tests remain steady and low," Cuomo said. "But we need to remember our success fighting this virus is a function of our own actions. Mask wearing, social distancing and hand washing — basic as they may seem — are critical to controlling the spread of this virus. Especially now that we are seeing spikes in cases throughout the country, this is not the time to let up — especially on compliance enforcement. We know the prescription, and we know it works — we just need to be smart and do it."Cuomo's order was met with hesitancy by some local politicians. NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- A United States Air Force Pilot was killed Wednesday morning when his F-16 Fighting Falcon jet crashed outside Las Vegas, the Air Force said. The pilot died when his F-16 Fighting Falcon jet crashed during a routine aerial demonstration training flight at 10:30 a.m. His name has not yet been released. An investigation is being conducted into the cause of the mishap. The team’s participation at the March Air Reserve Base “The March Field Air & Space Expo” has been canceled.  It is unknown how this accident will impact the remainder of the 2018 Thunderbirds Season.   674

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Peloton has issued a recall for some of its bike pedals due to a laceration hazard.Thursday, that home fitness company said about 54,000 of its PR70P clip-in pedals are being recalled. They’re the first-generation pedals fitted on Peloton bikes sold between July 2013 and May 2016.The company has received at least 120 reports of pedals breaking, including 16 reports of leg injuries, five of which required medical care, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.The Peloton logo and the word "PELOTON" are molded into the pedal body. An orange Peloton symbol and white lettering spelling "PELOTON" are also printed on the top of the cleat binding. They were fitted on bikes that sold for about ,000.Peloton says anyone with these pedals should stop using them immediately and that it’s notifying all affected consumers directly on how to receive free replacement pedals, along with instructions for self-installation.Peloton says its pedals are warranted for one year and all remaining PR70P clip-in pedals in service are out of warranty. NFL players must stand during the National Anthem this season, team owners decided Wednesday, a reaction to fierce backlash against some who took a knee in symbolic opposition to the systemic oppression of people of color, including by police.NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said during a news conference at the meeting in Atlanta that teams whose players and personnel do not stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem will be fined by the league.Each team may develop its own work rules regarding players or personnel who do not comply with the policy, which could include fines. The new policy does give players the option to remain in the locker room during the playing of the anthem if they do not wish to comply.With this change, the NFL's game operations manual will be revised to remove the requirement that all players be on the field for the anthem. "We want people to stand, that's all personnel, and make sure that they treat this moment in a respectful fashion that's something I think we owe.
