(AP) — Authorities say divers have found the body of the last missing victim in a fatal boat fire that killed 34 people off the Southern California coast.The victim is one of 34 who died at sea last week near Santa Cruz Island. Five of the Conception's six crew members survived after multiple attempts to save the others who were trapped below deck.Authorities have said the victims, 21 women and 13 men from 16 to 62 years old, appear to have died from smoke inhalation. One of the victims was San Diegan Nicole Quitasol, a waitress at Nickey Rotten's in Coronado.The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office also said Wednesday on Twitter that authorities are still doing DNA testing to confirm the identities of seven of the victims. Lt. Erik Raney says salvage efforts to recover the Conception also resumed Wednesday.The FBI, Coast Guard and U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles are conducting a criminal probe into the Sept. 2 tragedy. (AP) -- Family members of nine women and children from an offshoot Mormon community who were killed in Mexico in November have filed a federal lawsuit against the Juarez drug cartel.They accuse the cartel of carrying out the attack in retribution for publicly criticizing and demonstrating against the cartel.A lawyer representing the family members said they initiated the lawsuit to show the Juarez cartel was responsible for the Nov. 4 slaughter and to seek damages.It's not clear whether representatives of the cartel would appear in court to defend against the lawsuit. 582

(CNN) — California high school and middle school students will have some lifesaving information at their fingertips as they go back to school this year.A law that went into effect in July requires schools to print the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline on student ID cards for seventh- through 12th-graders in public, private and charter schools.That number is 1-800-273-TALK (8255).The law also says that student IDs may have information on the Crisis Text Line — which can be reached by texting HOME to 741741 — as well as local suicide prevention resources."I think any opportunity for somebody to have a number to be able to call out to, reach out to and be available, I think it's fantastic," Ray Morgan told CNN affiliate KGO. His daughter is a freshman at a San Francisco Bay Area high school.The move comes as suicide rates continue to rise in the United States.The suicide rate in 2017 was 33% higher than it was in 1999, according to annual research published in June by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics.A study published in the medical journal JAMA found a significant increase in the suicide rates among 15- to 24-year-olds between 2000 and 2017.Dave Muth, who advocated for the law, told CNN affiliate KESQ that he hopes it encourages people to talk openly about suicide and mental health.
