The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Medical Association are working with the Ad Council to educate people about the flu vaccine, particularly in communities of color.“I understand. As an African American physician, I understand some of the mistrust and distrust,” said Dr. Patrice Harris with the American Medical Association.CDC data shows not enough people get the flu shot.People die unnecessarily and unvaccinated African Americans have twice the hospitalization rate due to flu.“And when we consider other things like diabetes, heart and lung disease, asthma and other conditions that can get exasperated in the presence of the flu, it’s particularly protective for people with those conditions,” said Dr. Leandris Liburd, CDC Associate Director for Minority Health. There's more than 50 years of data on the safety of the flu vaccine. There is the potential now for a “twindemic.”“And so, by taking care of our health, we are saying we care about our family members, our community members and we are taking care of their health as well,” said Harris. The CDC anticipates delivering nearly 200 million flu vaccine doses.CVS and Walgreens say they plan to give as much as double the amount of vaccines as they did last season. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for the body to be fully protected.Click here to learn where to get your vaccine. 1387

The Dalai Lama has a new fan. And so does Aaron Rodgers. Each other. The Green Bay Packers' all-world quarterback is on a world trip taking him to India, where he met the Tibetan buddhist leader and gave him an NFL football and a Green Bay Packers hat.Rodgers and his beloved, Danica Patrick, are traveling to India to help with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. They will be giving hearing aids to some people who may be hearing for the first time.Rodgers has undergone a long spiritual journey beyond his time as a quarterback with the Packers. He often expressed his Christian faith during his rookie year in 2005, won the Bart Starr award which reflects on that belief. Yet he talked in 2016 about his spirituality, not necessarily believing God has one team he roots for over another, and the specifics of his purpose on earth. 879
The FBI held an unforeseen news conference on Wednesday to say that Iran and Russia have been leading a misinformation campaign ahead of this year’s election.Although the sudden nature of Wednesday’s news conference made the announcement seem urgent, intelligence community officials have been warning of interference by Iran, China and Russia for months.Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said that the countries obtained voter registration information, and then used that data to direct misinformation toward voters. Ratcliffe, along with FBI Director Christopher Wray, would not take any questions.Voter registration information is generally public information. Information like voters’ names, addresses and voting history are generally available nationwide. It is unclear if Iran and Russia received information that is publicly available."We have already seen Iran sending spoofed emails designed to intimidate voters,” Ratcliffe said.Ratcliffe claimed that the emails worked to hurt Trump's campaign, but House Democrat Ted Lieu, a member of the Intelligence Committee, questioned how the emails were intended to hurt Trump's campaign. 1164
