JAMUL, Calif. (KGTV) - An 11-year-old girl told the San Diego County Sheriff's Department she was nearly kidnapped Tuesday afternoon near Jamul Primary school on Lyons Valley Road.The child told deputies she was walking on a dirt trail around 3:49 p.m. when she was approached and forcibly grabbed by an unknown man. She was able to escape, suffering only a minor abrasion on her arm.Deputies and the Sheriff's ASTREA helicopter searched the area but were unable to find any suspects or evidence.In a sketch released by the department, the man has a distinct scar on his cheek and appears to have a droopy eye. The Jamul Dulzura Union School District is working with the sheriff’s department to keep students safe. All schools in the district will start at their normally scheduled time, but deputies will have extra patrols at Jamul Primary before and after school for the rest of the week.Detectives from the Sheriff's Rancho San Diego Station are handling the investigation. The suspect was described as a thin man who is clean shaven, wearing a dark ball cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and either a red or maroon shoes.  1183

ABC was in need of a new hit show, and "Roseanne" is the biggest out-of-the-box hit to come along in years.The network's announcement on Friday actually called it an "11th season" renewal -- a nod to the show's roots in the 1990s."We're thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes. The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can't wait to see what the 'Roseanne' team has in store for next year," Channing Dungey, the president of ABC Entertainment, said in a statement.The "Roseanne" reboot has been the talk of Hollywood ever since initial ratings from Nielsen showed that 18 million people tuned in to it on Tuesday night.The ratings home run is a testament to the enduring power of big-tent broadcast television.With one day of DVR and video-on-demand viewing counted, the new total for the premiere is 21.9 million viewers.Earlier this week, President Donald Trump wrapped himself in the "Roseanne" ratings news. JULIAN, Calif. (KGTV) -- The threat of wildfires in Julian may be going down. SDG&E is installing underground power lines to help mitigate the fire risk. The project is also expected to keep critical facilities open during pre-emptive power outages. Not only will the work help prevent fires, it may also help keep power running when Santa Ana winds start picking up. Crews were hard at work Tuesday putting underground power lines near State Route 78 in Julian. RELATED: City of San Diego moves forward with undergrounding more power linesThe project is part of SDG&E’s effort to reduce the risk of wildfires and shutting down power during windy weather. It will help keep the power running to places like Julian’s schools, post office, library and their Cal Fire station. Phase one of the project is being done along Cape Horn Avenue. Many homes and facilities have lost power there during shutoffs in the past. While residents in Julian were happy about the changes, they know it won’t happen overnight.
