An Oregon health care network says it has placed a nurse on administrative leave after she shared a video on social media where she bragged about flouting basic public health measures that help prevent the spread of COVID-19.In a Facebook post on Saturday afternoon, Salem Health said it had placed the nurse on administrative leave pending an investigation after learning of the video.According to KPTV-TV in Salem, Oregon, the Washington Post and BuzzFeed News, the unidentified nurse originally shared the video on TikTok. An Omaha, Nebraska massage therapist accused of sexual assault now faces more charges.Omaha Police have now charged 62-year-old Melvin Buffington with five additional charges of Third Degree Sexual Assault. OPD says a woman reported that Buffington sexually assaulted her during a scheduled massage appointment at Oasis Massage and Spa on January 12. As they investigated that allegation, a second victim reported she had been sexually assaulted during her massage appointment on February 15. Prosecutors say Buffington moved the woman's underwear and penetrated her during a deep tissue massage Police took Buffington into custody on Feb. 18. On Feb. 20, Buffington had his bond set at ,000. Among the many casualties of social-distancing directives is the child’s birthday party. So when coronavirus lockdowns came to Truckee in the California mountains, Craig Fierro wanted to do his part. Fierro runs a shop specializing in motorized vehicles, parts and maintenance northwest of Lake Tahoe. He also carries brightly colored toy replicas of the motorbikes that are a favorite of kids who come to the shop. So he started dropping them off as wrapped birthday presents for tots and teens in the community in mid-April. According to the Sierra Sun, Fierro posted on Facebook asking if there were kids celebrating during the pandemic. After he handed out what he had in his story, Fierro got a surprise when he went to re-order. When the distribution center learned what he was doing, they reportedly sent him double his order. An Idaho woman reported to the Nampa Police Department Tuesday night that her 6-year-old son had been given a small bag of marijuana while out trick-or-treating.She reported that she had been going through his candy bag and found the small plastic baggie that appeared to contain marijuana. She brought the baggie to the Nampa Police Department and turned it over to officers. Nampa Police field tested the substance found in the candy bag and it indeed tested “presumptively positive” for marijuana, said Nampa Police Sgt. Tim Riha.“Officers obtained the route that (the child) took while out trick-or-treating. (The child) had been to several houses in that area, but it is unknown which house provided the marijuana to the trick-or-treater,” Riha explained. The baggie that contained the marijuana will be sent to the lab for fingerprint testing, he added.The incident is still under investigation. The Nampa Police Department reminds parents to inspect all candy and items obtained by their kids while out on Halloween.“If any candy looks like it has been tampered with or opened, it is best just to throw the item away. An 11-year-old boy is now safe after getting sucked into a drain during Tuesday's flooding in Harrison, Wisc.. According to officials, the boy and some of his friends were playing in a retention pond that was completely full and draining at a high rate. Apparently, the boy got some goggles so he could see where the water was draining. He then got sucked in and disappeared under water. The boy's friends called 911 and emergency crews responded. Crews searched for 45 minutes until one of the rescuers saw the little boy sticking his finger through a manhole covering. The manhole lid was removed and the boy was pulled to safety. The boy was transported to a local hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance and was conscious and alert at the time.Sheriff’s officials are warning parents to not allow children to play in or near drainage ditches or retaining ponds especially during storms. The rapid water movement during these times can be life-threatening. 985
