SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric says more than 21,000 residents could lose power amid a coming Santa Ana wind event.The company said Saturday it notified thousands of residents about the possibility of power outages to reduce wildfire risk both Monday and Tuesday.The outages could take place in south Orange County and north San Diego County. Click here to see a map of areas that could be affected.“The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for inland Orange County for 2 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday, and it has indicated that ‘any rainfall that occurs this weekend will not delay the fire weather potential for very long on early Monday,’” the company said.SDG&E says most Santa Ana winds come from the east and sweep through San Diego County’s backcountry. This event, however, is forecast to come from the north, affecting urban and coastal areas that don’t normally see public safety power outages.“Within SDG&E’s service territory, the strongest winds are expected overnight Sunday through Monday in the San Clemente and east San Juan Capistrano areas in south Orange County and the Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Pala Reservation and Fallbrook areas in north San Diego County,” SDG&E said.Drive-thru community resource centers will be available starting at 8 a.m. Monday at the Fallbrook Branch Library, 124 S. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County has issued eight cease-and-desist orders to College Area homes, including six affiliated with Greek life organizations, ahead of reported Halloween gatherings.The orders say the eight residences, "intends to hold large gatherings on October 30, 2020 - November 1, 2020 in blatant violation of the Order of the State Health Officer, the County Order of the Health Officer and Emergency Regulations, and CDPH's October 9, 2020 gathering guidance."If the residences hold large gatherings, the cease-and-desist letters say they may face, "actions necessary to enforce the orders and the gathering guidance," which can include criminal misdemeanor citations and a ,000 fine for each violation.RELATED: Stay-at-home advisory issued for San Diego State students over HalloweenGatherings in the state's Oct. 9 health order must include no more than three households.In a statement, County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten said the county's livelihood is directly tied to the actions of all residents."We were compelled to take this action because there is a great deal at stake. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego and National City police departments announced several arrests Friday in violent crime cases over about two years in central San Diego and the South Bay.Police said in a release the crimes occurred between April 2018 and February 2020 in the Bay Terraces, Mountain View, and Shelltown neighborhoods, and the National City area.Many cases appeared to be linked to the same suspects, police added, and a gang allegation was attached to each crime:John Orozco, 26, of El Cajon, was arrested on Nov. 11, 2020, for the murder of Joaquin Ruiz on July 12, 2019, the attempted murder of Julio Martull on July 24, 2019, and other related crimes.Ethan Apan, 28, of National City, was arrested on Nov. 17, 2020, for the murder of Joaquin Ruiz on July 12, 2019, the attempted murder of Julio Martull on July 24, 2019, and conspiracy to commit the murder of Marco Magana on Aug. 1, 2019. Apan was also arrested for other related charges.Kevin Herrera, 26, of National City, was arrested on Nov. 17, 2020, for the murder of Joaquin Ruiz on July 12, 2019, and other related charges.Ismael Betancourt, 20, of National City, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2020, for the murder of Lowry Rivers on April 8, 2018. Jorge Sanchez, 18, of San Diego, had previously been arrested for the murder of Emily Cortez on July 15, 2020.
