EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is looking for a man who attempted to rob a Burger King, threatening employees with a gun, in El Cajon off of Old Highway 80. Deputies say the man ordered food and when the cashier told him the amount owed, he pulled out the gun and demanded money. The employees ran to the back and the suspect shot his gun at least once before running off, according to deputies.There were no customers inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting and none of the employees were hurt. The suspect was seen taking off westbound on Old Hwy 80 in a dark-colored pick-up truck. He's described as white or Hispanic, 5'8", and about 200 pounds. Dr. Anthony Fauci has a stark warning for Americans, reiterating that if our response to the coronavirus does not change, there could be more hospitalizations and deaths.“If things do not change, if they continue on the course we’re on, there’s gonna be a whole lot of pain in this country with regard to additional cases and hospitalizations, and deaths,” Fauci said in an interview Wednesday evening on “The News with Shepard Smith.”Dr. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has repeatedly told lawmakers and other news outlets the country’s coronavirus case numbers are going in the “wrong direction.”Cases are rising in almost every state and territory, and coronavirus-positive patients are overwhelming hospitals in some parts of the country.The Midwest is especially hard hit right now, with Wisconsin reporting a 7-day positivity rate of 28 percent. (KGTV) - A woman charged with a DUI crash that killed her passenger and seriously injured a young man changed her plea to guilty Tuesday in El Cajon court.Prosecutors said Tania Molinar was drunk when she drove her Mazda into the path of James Dotson’s Ford Ranger on Avocado Blvd. in May. The impact split the truck in two.Molinar’s passenger, David Sarabia Lopez, was killed. Dotson testified about the details of the violent crash during the preliminary hearing.Dotson has not recovered from his injuries. He said his medical bills total 0,000 and he has another surgery scheduled.“I don't do anything I do before. I was kind of the kid that rode dirt bikes, had a race truck, I like to go to the desert, go climbing, I can't do any of that. Among them, the championship game between unbeaten Coastal Carolina and Top 25 Louisiana-Lafayette was called off.The Sun Belt Conference canceled the contest because of a positive COVID-19 test from a member of Coastal Carolina, which resulted in an entire position group being forced to quarantine in order to follow protocol.“We are very disappointed that the championship game cannot be played, but we are so proud of all of the players and staff members and their hard work during this truly challenging season," said Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill.
