City officials voted unanimously on Thursday to install two new rainbow-painted crosswalks to show support for the LGBTQ community in Phoenix. The vote was in response to interest by community groups after noting several other cities across the country have installed rainbow crosswalks as a symbol of inclusiveness with the LGBTQ community. "Phoenix values and embraces its LGBTQ brothers and sisters," Mayor Greg Stanton said. "Phoenix is committed to ensuring equal treatment and rights for everyone and showing our support because we know diversity makes us stronger."  The proposed rainbow crosswalks would be installed at two existing pedestrian crosswalks, located at Central Avenue and Portland Street, and the other at the crossing of 7th and Glenrosa avenues. The Phoenix Pride Community Foundation, one-n-ten, and Aunt Rita's Foundation have offered to cover the costs of materials, installation and ongoing maintenance for the rainbow-painted portions of the crosswalks that are not already maintained by the city. All three groups are non-profits that serve and assist LGBTQ individuals and the community."The City of Phoenix has always maxed out its score on the equality index. They've been longtime supporters of not only one n ten but Phoenix Pride and all of our LGBTQ organizations," said Travis Shumake, with one-n-ten. Country singer K.T. Oslin, who hit it big with the 1987 hit “80′s Ladies” and won three Grammy awards, has died. She was 78. Oslin’s friend Robert K. Oermann says she died in suburban Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday morning. He learned of Oslin’s death from her aunt. The cause of death has not been released. Oermann says Oslin had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease and lived in an assisted-living facility since 2016. He said Oslin tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Claims that U.S. voter registration rolls have been hacked and leaked are false and were created by malicious actors trying to spread disinformation ahead of the 2020 election, the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said Monday.In a press release published on the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center, the agencies said they have "no information suggesting any cyberattack on U.S. election infrastructure," and added that registration rolls or any ballots already cast have not been compromised.The FBI says foreign actors and cybercriminals are spreading false reports about cyberattacks affecting election integrity in "an attempt to manipulate public opinion, discredit the electoral process, and undermine confidence in U.S. democratic institutions."According to the press release, U.S. voter information is publicly available and can be purchased, and while hackers have obtained some of that information in the past, the data "did not impact the voting process or the integrity of election results."Ahead of the 2016 election, Russia used social media to create politically-oriented groups and spread misinformation. CLAY COUNTY, Mo. — A man is in custody after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase while riding an ATV naked. KCPD told Scripps station KSHB in Kansas City that Shoal Creek patrol officers were sent out on a call involving a naked man driving a yellow ATV through yards just after 2:15 p.m.When they located him, they tried to pull him over but he refused to stop and fled through a field.He eventually made his way onto I-435 and began driving fast going south in the northbound lanes.He got off I-435 at 210 Highway, where he exited onto Searcy Creek Parkway and drove back east toward train tracks south of 210 Highway.As the suspect approached the old Sam's Town Casino, police said he was thrown from the ATV after he struck two railway junction boxes.He got up and tried to run from officers, but was taken into custody and to a local hospital for treatment.The chase ended just before 3:45 p.m.The police activity you’ve been seeing along 152 Hwy, I-435 and now 210 Hwy is all because of a naked man riding a yellow ATV who refused to stop for police. ??
