SAN DIEGO (KGTV) --  A federal judge ordered that the Trump administration reinstate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program, also known as DACA. The DACA program - which protects nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children from being deported. While the decision has been made, it won't be an easy road for the people involved. The restart is delayed until August 23, to allow the government time to appeal Judge John Bates' decision.  For Dreamers like Ali Torabi, Friday's win is just the latest in the political tug of war.RELATED: San Diego Dreamers heading to the Capitol“I was preparing for, in the next four days, the complete opposite," Torabi said. He believed he might be deported. "I was actually working on my med school applications, and I was like, ‘I need to get my things together now.’”Torabi is a DACA student from Iran and a 22-year resident of San Diego.  He said Judge Bates' decision is huge for the undocumented immigrants protected by the program. But being in constant limbo can be emotionally draining. "Having this back and forth, where one day we don’t know if we’ll have any protection and were up to be potentially deported or detained, to telling us, well yea we’ll keep the protections...it’s difficult," he said. "I’m not going to lie to you, it’s emotionally difficult.”It isn't over yet. Judge Bates ruling could conflict with another decision on the program -  expected to be ruled on by a federal judge in Texas by as early as next week.The Texas Attorney General calls the program unconstitutional because it came from an executive order.“It invites future presidents to ignore the law, ignore the will of the people, and set their own policies on the second amendment, privacy rights, drug laws, or any other important issues debated in Congress," said Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Torabi said he has hope. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A European carrier is hoping to transform the way Southern California travels between major cities.FlixBus will start offering service to 10 Southern California cities, including in San Diego, beginning May 31. The service, which has operated within Europe since 2013, is hoping to carve out a presence with discounted ticket prices and some high-tech additions.For a limited time, travelers can snag fares from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for as low as on select dates throughout June, according to the service's website. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two men were in custody this morning on suspicion of committing a home invasion robbery in the Skyline area.The victim and another man were inside a home at 7700 Skyline Drive around 12:30 p.m. Friday when two armed men entered the house, tied up the victim and the other man and stole items from the home and both victims, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The suspects left the home and jumped into a waiting gold car, which lost control a short distance away from the home and became disabled, Heims said.Several people ran from the vehicle and when police arrived on scene, they found two men near the car, both of whom were detained and later arrested, Heims said.San Diego police robbery detectives are investigating. 784

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A car owner in Old Town has a warning if you're planning on parking in the popular area: A destructive thief may be lurking.On the morning after Cinco de Mayo, blocks from the festivities, Amy Wysocki discover an unpleasant post-celebration surprise."Just heartbreaking. I instantly broke into tears," said Wysocki.Along Congress Street, Wysocki found a side window of her Lexus on the ground, smashed."Then I came upon the other broken window, which was also a shock and quite a bummer," said Wysocki.Inside her car, about 30 bucks in emergency cash was missing, along with some ibuprofen. Her windows are tinted, but if someone peered inside, some boxes filled with paper products can been seen. Wysocki believes those boxes made her car a target. Wysocki is hardly alone. Along Congress Street, there is a trail of broken glass."It's really sad. It's disgusting," said Wysocki.Police told Wysocki there were seven other "smash-and-grab" break-ins discovered in her neighborhood that same day. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A driver struck a fire hydrant outside San Diego International Airport Saturday, causing water to rocket into the sky outside Terminal 2 and headaches inside the airport.Terminal 2's East entrance on West Harbor Drive was temporarily closed after the driver struck the hydrant along the terminal's departure lanes around 10:40 a.m. Airport officials also closed Terminal 2 East's concessions and directed all traffic through Terminal 1.At one point, vehicles backed up onto Harbor Dr. as drivers encountered the closure caused by the geyser, according to a witness. Fire crews worked feverishly for about two hours, as gallons of water and kicked up rocks showered them below, before the water was turned off around 12:35 p.m. 753
