SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man suspected of threatening a Target employee with a razor during a robbery.Police say the incident happened around 10 a.m. on March 25 at the Target on the 1200 block of Camino Del Rio North.According to police, a loss prevention officer noticed a man inside the store he recognized from previous encounters.Police say the man grabbed three memory cards and attempted to remove them from their cases.After removing one of the memory cards and placing it in his pocket, the man was confronted by the officer who followed him to the exit.The suspect then threatened the officer with a folding razor knife he removed from his waistband.The suspect is described as a six-foot tall 28-year-old white male wearing a tan colored long-sleeve dress shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego Police at 619-531-2299. 951

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Ridership of dockless scooters and bikes has dropped off dramatically since the summer.New data from the city says 222,076 people rode the vehicles in the two week period ending Oct. 15. That was down from 441,830 rides from July 15 to July 30. "When I first started they were littered everywhere," said Kelly Callaghan, who rides scooters in Pacific Beach. "It's pretty insane how the change happened like this."On Monday, only a handful of people could be spotted riding dockless scooters in some of San Diego's most traveled areas, including downtown and the Mission Beach and Pacific Beach boardwalks. The change could be due to more than just the summer being over.In July, the city instituted new rules that — among other things — required scooter operators to use geofencing technology to reduce speeds on the waterfront and boardwalks to 3 miles per hour. Additionally, police have issued 383 citations and the city has impounded 3,733 devices. So far, two operators have pulled out, and a city hearing office may revoke Lime's permit within the next 30 days. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Fire-Rescue is bringing on more firefighters and preparing for a Red Flag Warning and Heat Advisory in the week ahead.Starting Monday Deputy Fire Chief David Gerboth said, "our helicopters will be on 24 hours a day. We're staffing up five additional brush engines. These are engines that are specially designed to work in these rural areas."He explained the engines have off-road capabilities and can fight fire in areas similar to Japatul Valley where the Valley Fire burned more than 9,000 acres in a day.The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for San Diego County mountains and valleys Monday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.A Heat Advisory follows, 10 a.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. Thursday, "91 to 102 degrees for the San Diego valleys."This combination dire according to Gerboth."Near-record high temperatures, a mild Santa Ana event and combine that with our vegetation that burns is reaching critically dry levels. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Restaurant workers across San Diego County returned to work Friday, after a Superior Court judge ruled restaurants could serve on-site.Martin Cardenas was right back on the job Friday morning, prepping Chula Vista's El Cruce 241 for what he hoped was a sizable lunch crowd.“You have to understand, it is around the holidays, we're social distancing, we're sanitizing everything, we're doing everything in our capacity to stay safe,” he said.But the governor's office says those precautions are still not enough, with ICU capacity at 0% in Southern California due to the coronavirus spread.In early December, the state reduced county restaurants to takeout only, eliminating thousands of jobs.
