You can find weights, and workouts at any gym. But for gymgoer Amanda Hall, she finds something else at her gym she can’t find anywhere else. At The Phoenix, Hall is a fitness coach. She found the gym four years ago after trying over and over to beat her addiction to alcohol. “Every time one of those things didn't work out, I just ended up feeling more and more alone,” she says. But not at The Phoenix, which serves as an active sober community for its members suffering from substance abuse. “Nobody really cared about like where I went to treatment, if I went to treatment, if I go to one program, if I don't go to another program,” she says. “The only thing that was important was that we all just wanted to come together and have fun.” Gym founder and executive director Scott Strode started The Phoenix after his own battle with addiction.“I found my way into a boxing gym, and there was something really special about getting in the ring for the first time and being in there with other guys that were in recovery,” Strode says. “There were a couple sober boxers there and they became my support network.”To attend, you only need to be sober for 48 hours. “It burned and from its own ashes it rose again, and that's the story of so many people that come to our program,” he says of the gym’s name. “So, the name’s a perfect fit.” Phoenix gyms are in 20 states across the country, and they’re free! “There are so many programs that if you don't have the right insurance or you don't have enough money to self-pay or whatever else, you can't get access to treatment,” Strode explains. “Phoenix, if you can open the door, you can be part of it.” That incentive made it easier for Andrew Brough to come to the gym’s Denver location four years ago, while battling his addiction to opioids. Now, as manager of the Denver Phoenix chapter, Brough helps others in the same position he was in. “There was a lot of people that, like, help me along my journey that allowed me to be in this position,” Brough says. “And now, I hope that I can do that for somebody else.” 2080

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - New video reveals clues into a shootout that shook up a neighborhood in Clairemont Friday morning. At Broadlawn Street and Batista Street, the quiet was shattered just past 10 a.m., leaving neighbors like Julia Mauriello dumbfounded. "I heard a loud series of sounds I was not familiar with. I came out to find there was a gun battle on my street," said Mauriello. That morning, San Diego Police evidence markers revealed the location of the spent rounds. There were few clues about what happened, until now. A neighbor's Ring video obtained by 10News shows that in the 50 seconds before the shooting, a speeding black truck turns onto the street past a dark green sedan, which then begins to move.In the next video, the truck is stopped on the street. Not far away, someone emerges from the passenger side of the car and starts firing. After about six shots exchanged, the person gets back in the car. The car backs up and peels out.Another surveillance camera shows the truck racing out of the area, before returning, possibly to survey the damage. "So scary. This happened in front of my home. All of my children were on my lawn just an hour before the shots. (CNN) -- An American Airlines flight was diverted to Oklahoma after a man grabbed a passenger seated next to him "by the crotch," according to a federal criminal complaint filed Friday.James Clayton Cholewinski-Boy was charged with abusive sexual contact after Tuesday's reported assault aboard American Airlines Flight 807 from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Salt Lake City, Utah, the complaint said.It's unclear whether Cholewinski-Boy has an attorney.The alleged victim, identified as "E.J." in the complaint, was seated between Cholewinski-Boy and her daughter. Shortly after takeoff, he began touching the woman's arm and she repeatedly pushed his hands away, according to the complaint.Cholewinski-Boy then "forcibly grabbed her by the crotch," the complaint said. The woman again pushed his hand away and demanded that he stop."Cholewinski-Boy threw up his hands and said 'sorry,'" according to the complaint.The woman notified the flight crew, who moved mother and daughter to another part of the aircraft.The pilot diverted the flight to Tulsa International Airport, where Cholewinski-Boy was arrested by airport police for public intoxication, the complaint said.He was released Wednesday on his own recognizance, the Tulsa Municipal Jail told CNN."The public should know these allegations pertain to criminal sexual misconduct by Mr. Cholewinski-Boy against a female passenger, not a threat to the plane or air travel," U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, Trent Shores, said in a statement.American Airlines, in a statement, said: "The quick actions of our crew ensured the safety and wellbeing of our customers on the flight." 1662
