WASHINGTON – The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is introducing a new Purple Heart Medal Forever stamp this month.The Forever stamp will go on sale nationwide on Oct. 4 and will be issued in self-adhesive sheets of 20.Like the Purple Heart Medal, the USPS says the stamp will honor the members of the U.S. military who have been wounded or killed in action. The Purple Heart Medal has a long history that starts with George Washington, who established the Badge of Military Merit during the Revolutionary War. It was discontinued after the war, but reinstated with a new design in 1932, the 200th anniversary of Washington’s birth. The new Forever stamp is a redesign that features a purple border that matches the brilliant purple of the medal and its ribbon. Customers can purchase the stamp through The Postal Store at 829

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders suggested Tuesday that the White House has found an alternative way to get its requested billion in funding for a US-Mexico border wall, marking a reversal from President Donald Trump's previous position.Sanders indicated that the White House could support a compromise bill to avoid a partial government shutdown later this week."We have other ways that we can get to that billion (for a border wall)," Sanders said Tuesday morning during an interview with Fox News."We will work with Congress if they will make sure we get a bill passed that provides not just the funding for the wall, but there's a piece of legislation that's been pushed around that Democrats actually voted 26-5 out of committee that provides roughly billion for border security including .6 billion for the wall," she said. Cory Booker.The New Jersey Democrat initially looked taken aback, impressed or jealous at the power move, which highlighted O'Rourke's ability to speak the language fluently and may have distracted from the fact that he could not or would not answer the specific question about whether he would support a 70% top tax rate.But maybe Booker was just frustrated that he didn't get to speak Spanish first. He pulled out his own language skills a short time later when the subject turned to immigration.One of the moderators, José Diaz-Balart, got in on the act as well, asking O'Rourke a question about the border in Spanish before repeating it in English.After the debate, Rep.
