Cleveland Browns fans at 10 bars in the northern Ohio city could be treated to free beer when the team wins a game.Bud Light is inside the Browns Victory Fridges, according to ESPN. The 8-foot fridges are in bars that purchased them and are filled with bottles of the beer, which is the official beer of 28 of 32 NFL teams. At the end of the next win by the Cleveland Browns, which haven't won a game since Week 16 in 2016 against the San Diego Chargers, the electromagnet that keeps the refrigerators locked will be turned off through a WiFi connection, ESPN reports.Bud Light is making this happen to reward fans who are loyal to the Cleveland Browns, its VP of marketing told ESPN. 691

CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - Coronado residents heard a plan from the Port of San Diego Monday night that would allow for 350 new hotel rooms to be built on the island. Those who showed up were not happy.“Most of the residents don’t want this development to happen,” said resident Kelly Sarber. “The city can’t really handle what we're dealing with right now,” she added, referring to the island’s notorious traffic. The new proposal is part of an update to the Port’s master plan, which includes 2,403 acres of land across 34 miles of waterfront around San Diego Bay.In Coronado, the new master plan would allow for 350 hotel rooms to be built in the north Coronado subdistrict, which includes the Ferry Landing and the area occupied by the existing Marriot Hotel.“What this plan sets out is potential growth for next 30 years,” said Lesley Nishihira, planning director for the Port. She said currently they have not received a plan from a developer to actually build a hotel on the Ferry Landing property. However, if approved, the updated master plan would allow for one to be built eventually. Though, any project proposal would also have to go through a public review period. The comment period for the Master Plan draft goes through July 31. Comments can be emailed to the Port of San Diego at PMPU@portofsandiego.org. Final approval of the plan isn’t expected until late 2020. 1384

CLEARWATER, Fla. — The State Attorney's Office for Florida's Sixth Judicial District has reviewed the controversial 'stand your ground' case into the death of Markeis McGlockton and has decided to file a manslaughter charge. An arrest warrant was issued on Monday morning and Pinellas County detectives arrested Michael Drejka. He is being booked into the Pinellas County Jail and bond has been set at 0,000.McGlockton, 28, was shot and killed on July 19 by Drejka, 47, outside of a convenience store in Clearwater, Florida. Comedian Conan O’Brien’s 28-year run on late-night television will come to an end in 2021, O’Brien announced on Tuesday. As part of O’Brien’s announcement, the television stalwart will be producing a new weekly variety series on HBO Max. O’Brien also announced that his travel special “Conan Without Borders” will continue production.“In 1993 Johnny Carson gave me the best advice of my career: ‘As soon as possible, get to a streaming platform.’ I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription,” said O’Brien.O’Brien’s 28-year-long run on late-night TV made him one of the longest-running late-night show hosts in history, outlasting the likes of Jay Leno and Ed Sullivan.“28 years is a monumental achievement in late-night television,” said Brett Weitz, General Manager for TNT, TBS and truTV. “We’re incredibly proud of the groundbreaking work that Conan and his team have accomplished during the 10 years at TBS and are so glad that we will continue to have his presence on our air with the ‘Conan Without Borders’ specials. We celebrate his success and are glad to see it grow across our WarnerMedia family.”O’Brien’s tenure at times was bumpy. After growing a devoted following on Late Night with Conan O’Brien for 16 years on NBC, he was promoted to host the Tonight Show in 2009.As Leno took his nightly show to primetime, NBC infamously lost viewership with the experiment. After just seven months, NBC and O’Brien agreed to part ways, returning the Tonight Show to Leno.O’Brien then went to TBS to host “Conan” late in 2010. The show is slated to end in June. 1653

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The back and forth between President Donald Trump and North Korea's president Kim Jung Un is constant. But what if North Korea acted on its threat of sending a nuclear missile to American shores? An Air Force base in Colorado Springs would play a critical role in the event of such an attack. If the unthinkable happens, soldiers in a secure room on Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs will fight back. From a fortified facility, they have the power to launch what's known as a kill vehicle. Propelled into space by a rocket, the kill vehicle can destroy a warhead above the earth. The mission would be administered by members of the 100th Missile Defense Brigade."The threat we're dealing with is very real," said Colonel Kevin Kick, who is the commander of the 300-person team. "We say we are the 300 defending the 300 million."From their hub in Colorado, the interceptors can be launched from bases in Alaska and California, obliterating a nuclear warhead in a matter of minutes. The U.S. military allowed Denver7 television station, owned by the E.W. Scripps Company, to capture an exercise of a simulated attack on Los Angeles. Security is so sensitive, we can't tell you the participant's names.Soldiers say they train constantly so they are prepared in the event of an attack. “We train continuously — every shift, multiple times," said one unnamed solider.During our visit, the computer monitors were blacked out and had post-it notes covering the information— part of the efforts to prevent a breach."It's a very humbling experience to know that we are responsible for the defense of the homeland for the entire United States," said Lt. Alberto Squatrito .These soldiers are the best of the best— a blend of active military and National Guard, who work side-by-side after passing some of the toughest tests in the military."Unlike most school houses in our Army, you have to have an ‘A’ average just to pass the course," said Kick. And that makes sense, considering they're at the controls that can determine life and death or prevent a nuclear annihilation."Do you ever get a lump in your throat, knowing the seriousness and importance of what you do here?" asked Denver7’s Marc Stewart."Yes, I do get a sense of pride. I do get a lump in my throat. We're here to keep America safe," said the soldier. But not everyone is convinced this system will work. Some Pentagon testing has shown failures, with only about half of the tests being successful.Yet the technology is constantly being upgraded and revised. The soldiers tell Denver7 they stand behind it, saying they sleep at night feeling safe. 2675
