A potential tropical storm has its eyes on Puerto Rico this week, prompting the National Hurricane Center to issue a tropical storm warning for the island territory.The unnamed storm has not officially been deemed a tropical storm, but is topping low-end tropical storm winds of 40 MPH. A number of other Caribbean islands, including the US Virgin Islands, are under tropical storm warnings.Because the storm lacks a well-defined center, it is not considered a tropical storm officially. But the National Hurricane Center expects the disturbance it has named “Potential Tropical Cyclone No. 9” to better organize in the next day.After it passes the Caribbean islands, it will begin approaching the East Coast of the US. The National Hurricane Center’s official cone includes Florida. The storm is still at least four days away from approaching the US mainland. 868

A teenage worker at a Chili's restaurant in Baton Rouge says she was attacked by a large group of women while trying to enforce COVID-19 restaurant guidelines.According to WAFB, 17-year-old Kelsy Wallace was working her hostess position at the Chili's on Constitution Avenue when she was attacked by a group of 11 or more women on Sunday, August 9.The women had apparently become irate after requesting to be sat together. Wallace said that restaurant policy only allows for groups of up to six to sit together.Wallace tells WAFB that she got the manager to deal with the women when an exchange of words between Wallace and the women led to an altercation.One woman, according to Wallace, took a wet floor sign and struck her near her eye.Officers were called to the scene but the women had left by the time they arrived.Wallace was taken to the hospital to get stitches for her eye. During the altercation, some of her hair was pulled out and nails broke. A US Navy helicopter crashed onto the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in the Philippines Sea on Friday, injuring personnel on board.The MH-60 Seahawk hit the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan shortly after takeoff around 9 a.m., according to a statement released by the Navy's Seventh Fleet. All injured are in stable condition and are being evaluated by medical staff.The Navy did not say how many people were injured but that some "will be medically evacuated ashore" without specifying a location.An investigation has been opened into the cause of the crash, according to the statement.The incident occurred during routine operations in the Philippine Sea, which spreads north and east of the Philippines.The aircraft carrier "remains fully mission capable" and normal flight operations to support the mission of "support and security and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region" have resumed, the Navy said.Last week the Nimitz-class, or, nuclear-powered aircraft participated in the International Fleet Review near South Korea's Jeju Island.In May 2017, the USS Ronald Reagan began sea trials in the Pacific before replacing the USS Carl Vinson near the Korean Peninsula.The 1,092-foot Reagan carries a crew of 4,539 and is equipped with roughly 60 aircraft, according to the Navy. A top Republican official in the area President Donald Trump is visiting Tuesday is asking him to wear a mask.The president held a campaign rally event inside an airport hangar in Winston-Salem. The campaign has said masks, hand sanitizer and temperature checks will be provided for attendees.Dave Plyler, the Republican chairman of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, told local media he believes Trump should wear a mask while visiting."It's been ordered by the governor," Plyler said of the state's face-covering mandate. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in North Carolina, do as the governor says."Trump took the stage Tuesday evening without a mask on. While some in attendance, especially those seated directly behind Trump, wore masks, the majority did not, according to photos submitted by the Associated Press.North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s mask mandate is still in effect. Cooper is a democrat."He (Trump) is a citizen of the United States, but he is also a guest in our county," Plyler told the Winston-Salem Journal. "Without a mask, he could get sick, and he could blame the governor."Plyler is a supporter of the president and is pleased he is making the trip to Winston-Salem. However, he believes if Trump wore a mask, it would set the right example for other people."You know what would be neat?
