"That’s kind of why we’re trying to pilot this program.”Band In A Bus says budget cuts due to the coronavirus are forcing some schools to cut back music programs even more, which makes these free boxes even more important for kids.“The worst thing that we can do to a kid is strip them of this creative outlet,” Rose said. “As a growing young person, the most valuable thing is learning who you are and your tone of voice.”The Band in a Box program has enough money to help about 500 kids, but it is raising more money to try to impact as many families as possible.“That’s the experience that every kid can kind of relate to – that excitement, that fun,” Rose said. “You could see their smiles as they were drumming. With Election Day right around the corner, Mattel has unveiled their latest addition to its "Inspiring Women" series - Susan B. Anthony.The toy company said that it wanted to honor Anthony for her "pioneering efforts and far-reaching impact" in the fight for women having the right to vote."On November 5, 1872, while protesting and leading the charge for women's voting rights, Susan B. Anthony made a defiant move," Mattel said on its website. "She voted in the presidential election and was arrested at her home in Rochester, NY."Because Anthony helped pave the way, the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, which gave women everywhere the right to vote.Last week, the National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House unveiled the doll inside Anthony's home.In a press release, Deborah L. Hughes, President & CEO of the Anthony Museum, said they were delighted to hear from Mattel's design team about constructing a doll that would reflect "Susan B. WHITESTOWN, Ind. -- Family and friends gathered Saturday to salute and lay to rest a Whitestown, Indiana veteran who was buried in the wrong grave for nearly 12 years. Family members discovered the casket of Charles Bovenschen missing when they went to bury his wife in the same burial plot earlier this year at the Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Bovenschen passed away in 2006. His wife, Mary, died on February 18. A few days later, the cemetery found Bovenschen's casket buried in the wrong plot. The cemetery covered the costs of Saturday's ceremony, even providing a new casket for Bovenschen for him to be laid to rest next to his wife. Charles and Mary are now together forever.The troubling discovery could be the result of the business practices of the previous cemetery operator which oversaw several sites including Lincoln Memory Gardens. 892
