The Pennsylvania Department of Health is encouraging people who were at President Donald Trump’s campaign rally at Harrisburg International Airport on Saturday to get tested if they are feeling sick.Trump announced earlier Friday that he and the first lady have tested positive for the coronavirus.The department is asking people to download the COVID Alert PA phone app if they do test positive to anonymously alert people they may have come in contact with.Thousands attended the outdoor rally, held hours after the president introduced his Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, from the Rose Garden at the White House. Those at the rally were required to pass through a security checkpoint and get their temperatures taken.The president had another rally in the last week, on Wednesday in Duluth, Minnesota. Three Republicans boarded Air Force One in the Twin Cities and flew with the president to the Duluth rally location. Two of them, Congressman Tom Emmer and Congressman Jim Hagedorn, told local media they are taking a COVID-19 test after possible exposure to the president or a member of his team. The look on Seth Dixon’s face as he proposed to his girlfriend said it all, but not in the way you might think.According to a?post on wedding photographer Staci Dabney’s Facebook page, Dixon had taken his girlfriend, Ruth Salas, to Loose Park to ask her one of the most important questions in both of their lives."We've been dating for almost four years and we knew this day was coming," he explained. The setting was as picturesque as it gets. Imagine a beautiful wooden bridge stretching over a pond with gorgeous fall weather and lush greenery creating a dreamy background."I knew I wanted to propose (at Loose Park) just because it's kind of our spot," Dixon explained. "We just kind of fell in love with the park and the beauty of it."Of course, cameras were rolling as Dixon fell to his knee."Next thing you know, it's happening. I couldn't believe it," Salas explained. "At first, I was like, 'Oh my goodness. This is happening. He's on one knee.'" Excitement was written all over his and Salas’ faces, but their expressions soon turned to looks of horror.Dixon opened the little black box to reveal the ring… just before it flipped out of his hands, through a tiny crack in the boards of the bridge, and into that pond below."It ping-ponged through the crack and I hear it plop in the water," Salas said. "I didn't know what else to think but, 'Oh my goodness.'" ??????Friends of the couple got to work to try to find the ring, donning goggles and other swimming gear to search the neck-deep water for the lost band.Maddie Villareal, a longtime friend of Dixon, was one of the people who helped in the search."The bottom was the worst part because it was like slimy, muddy and there were sticks everywhere," she explained. "I know (finding the ring) was important to them. If it was me, I would hope they would do it for me."They sadly were not able to find it, so instead set up a GoFundMe page to help the couple purchase a new one.Amazingly, the couple now maintains a positive spirit following the incident."It's been a roller coaster. Emotions have been up and down," Dixon said. "After seeing the video over and over we just started laughing about it." Moving forward, the couple said the ring incident would add to the story of their relationship."We've been together for four years with ups and downs," Salas explained. The Mormon church is parting ways with the Boy Scouts of America after more than a century.In a joint statement Tuesday night, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Boy Scouts of America announced their decision to end their relationship next year after 105 years.The Boy Scouts serves about 330,000 Mormon youths, and the Mormon church is one of its largest sponsors."We have jointly determined that, effective on December 31, 2019, the church will conclude its relationship as a chartered organization with all Scouting programs around the world," the statement said.The Mormon church said it made the decision because it's expanded outside the United States, and wants to explore new youth programs that serve its international members.It will continue to work fully with the organization and support its goals and values until the end of next year. 878

The Miami Police Department said they are investigating an incident involving an officer in uniform who was spotted wearing a pro-Trump mask inside a polling site.According to the Miami Herald, the officer was spotted wearing the mask inside a polling site, which under state statute, is not allowed during an election if they are endorsing a candidate.The picture of the officer was taken by Steve Simeonidis, who according to Buzzfeed News is the Chair of Miami-Dade Democrats.The police department said in a tweet that they are aware of the photograph and this type of behavior is "unacceptable, a violation of departmental policy, and is being addressed immediately." 679

The Mid-American Conference announced on Saturday that it would be canceling the fall season for all sports due to COVID-19 concerns. They become the first league competing at college football's Division I level to cancel their fall season over Covid-19 concerns. The Council of Presidents unanimously voted to cancel the fall season, citing the health and safety of the student athletes, coaches and communities as its top priority.With the MAC’s 12 schools facing a significant financial burden by trying to maintain costly coronavirus protocols, the conference’s university presidents made the decision to explore a spring season for football.MAC schools rely heavily on revenue from playing road games against power conference teams. Most of the power conference football games were canceled when other conferences went to exclusively or mostly in-conference games. Without the out-of-conference games, the strain of trying to implement all that it would take to keep players and staff safe during a pandemic became too much.Football isn't the only sport being canceled. All fall sports in the MAC, including men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer and women's volleyball, will not be played this season.Kent State University sent a message to its student's athletes regarding the MAC's decision to cancel fall sports this season, stating that all student athletes who receive a scholarship will get to keep it and that the school is reaching out to the NCAA to request an additional year of eligibility for those who would like it.Nine of 13 conferences at Division I’s second-tier of football, the Championship Subdivision, have already postponed their fall football seasons, with an eye toward making them up in the spring.The MAC has not announced a decision for winter sports at this time.The conference is working to plan for the 2021 spring semester and said it will continue to consult with its Medical Advisory Panel and will monitor COVID-19 developments as it makes its decision. 2038
