FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Bailey Anne Vincent dances with all of her senses but one. She says she’s profoundly deaf from all usable hearing. "I am a choreographer, a professional dancer, a homeschooling mother, a writer, an advocate, and a director of my own professional dance company which is a body-positive dance company outside of D.C.,” Vincent said. In life, she relies on reading lips and sign language, but when dancing, she’s able to feel the music and innately understand the rhythm. “So I can be a bit of a control freak because I like to hit play on the music myself, because when I hit play, it’s like I start my internal metronome, and I start the clock in my head,” Vincent said. She started losing her hearing as a child and realized why when she was diagnosed with a chronic illness. “I have cystic fibrosis transmembrane related disorder which is a variant of cystic fibrosis, and for me it impacts all of my major organs so my sinuses are impacted, my lungs, I’ve had a copious amounts of surgeries on my stomach, and I have a whole bunch of robot parts so I call myself a bionic ballerina,” Vincent said. From inhaling antibiotics to taking daily medications, Vincent faces many challenges with her health. So, when something like the coronavirus becomes a global concern, it means Vincent's life could be in danger. “I am considered high risk amid the coronavirus outbreak,” Vincent said. Vincent’s husband, John LaBarbera, says they always have to be cautious of germs and sickness around her, so at first, it didn’t seem like that big of deal. However, it was inevitable that the emotion of it all would eventually catch up. “Bailey often says to me ‘your cold could be my pneumonia.' All the sudden today as we were driving to the studio, I just started feeling this tightness in my chest – which understandably is a concern so I was like ‘oh no’—but I could immediately tell that it was just that I had been suppressing the stress about it, the worry about her and about the illnesses,” LaBarbera said. Vincent says cystic fibrosis patients are familiar with staying six feet apart from one another, but when the whole world needs to practice social distancing it can be a bit daunting. “Because of my health, I’m used to having to wipe things down, and be aware of germs, and avoid other people who are sick, but this is just so scary because we don’t want to bring it to anyone else who is immune-compromised or to my parents or the elderly and so I think everyone feels so much more involved in keeping one another safe,” Vincent said. It should be noted, we stayed multiple feet apart while recording this story, and sanitized all camera equipment for the safety of Vincent. And a studio that would normally be filled with dancers was reduced to Vincent and her family. Vincent says she’s not sure how she’ll handle this new reality. “I’m honestly really disheartened and depressed because for me, dance is my outlet. It’s the thing that makes me not worry about the pain of my physicality, and not think about my health so much. So not being able to have that outlet, of course, is difficult when you’re someone with chronic pain and issues to not be able to be out in the world and distract yourself from your current circumstance,” Vincent said. On top of that, Vincent is trying to keep her 3338

The Ohio Department of Agriculture issued a warning about an insect that could kill wine in Ohio. The spotted lanternfly can cause significant damage to some plants and has been seen in Pennsylvania. According to the Department of Agriculture, the insect is fond of grape and fruit trees, hops, blueberry, oak, pine, poplar and walnut. Adult spotted lanterflies usually eat grapevines, while nymphs eat multiple types of plants. The insects eat stems and leaves, which can cause sap to bleed and reduce photosynthesis, which can eventually kill the plant.Spotted lanternflies can be spotted now through November. The insect can be identified by its red body, roughly a half-inch in size, with black stripes and white dots. Later this summer until November, the insect is in the adult moth stage. The adults are larger, roughly one inch in size, with black bodies and brightly colored wings. The insect has not been confirmed in Ohio yet but residents who believe they have spotted one are asked to report it online or by calling 614-728-640. "I thought he was crazy," said Dave Egeler about what his identical twin told him he was going to do to raise ,000 to help two charities dedicated to helping dogs rescued from neglect, dogfighting and other forms of cruelty. This Saturday, Dan Egeler, a retired lawyer and cancer survivor, is planning to run four full marathons in 24 hours. Egeler's goal is to get a lot of people to donate a little bit or a lot to help him get to his goal of ,000. The money will be shared between Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue and Bark Nation which helps dogs recover from the abuse they've been subjected to in dogfighting. Both charities are nonprofit organizations that are driven by volunteers who are dedicated to helping the dogs recover from any physical and mental injuries they've suffered. "Anyone who owns a dog knows they are unconditional in their love," Egeler said. "They provide a lot of joy and excitement in the family and they're just so great to have around so we love dogs."And everyone will be able to keep up with Egeler's progress that will begin Saturday at 1 o'clock in the afternoon because he'll be wearing a tracker.Egeler will start in Dexter and run through parts of western Washtenaw county and on a track at night. He'll end his marathons Sunday at 1 o'clock in the afternoon in Dexter.Click here to find out more about the race, the charities, and where to make a donation. "Obviously it's a strong stress on the body and I plan for that, but I gotta do this and I've got to complete four marathons in 24 hours," Egeler said. "And that's gonna be more of a mental challenge than a physical challenge." This story originally reported by Kimberly Craig on wxyz.com. 1709

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd on Wednesday announced the arrests of three suspects in connection to a group of friends murdered during a fishing trip in Florida on Friday. Damion Tillman, 23, Keven Springfield, 30, and Brandon Rollins, 27, were all killed while fishing in unincorporated Frostproof on July 17. The sheriff's office arrested Tony "TJ" Wiggins, 26, his girlfriend Mary Whittemore, 27, and Tony's brother William "Robert" Wiggins, 21, in relation to the murders. Judd described Tony as "pure evil in the flesh" and said he has 230 previous felony charges. According to a press release, the sheriff's office found a Dollar General bag at the crime scene with a receipt from that day of the crime. Detectives went to the store and reviewed surveillance footage. The release says one of the victims, Damion Tillman, was seen in the video along with all of the suspects. According to the release, the cashier said Tillman was a regular at the store and mentioned that he was going fishing that night. The clerk told detectives the suspects heard Tillman say he was going fishing and that "Keven" would be there with him. Keven Springfield, 30, was another of the victims. The clerk heard the suspects talk about what they heard among themselves, the release says. Detectives said they also received tips that one of the suspects might be Tony Wiggins. On Monday, the sheriff's office served a search warrant on a piece of land in Lake Wales where the suspects were living. Tony and Whittemore lived in one travel trailer on the property and William lived in another trailer on the same property. During the search, detectives found two SKS rifles, two Mossberg shotguns and ammunition for both in a gun safe belonging to Tony. Tony was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Detectives also found ammunition during the search and compared it to shell casings from the crime scene. The ammo was sent to the FDLE and testing showed that it was the same as that fired from a Smith & Wesson handgun the night of the murders, according to a press release. Detectives say Whittemore bought the ammo found at the scene for Tony in Lake Wales on July 9. According to the release, the two are seen in surveillance video from the store and detectives found a receipt that confirmed the purchase. When all three suspects were interviewed, detectives say their stories contradicted each other. Whittemore admitted to buying the ammo and being with the brothers the night of the murder but didn't make any additional statements, according to authorities. When William Wiggins was interviewed again, detectives said he admitted to seeing Tillman, one of the victims, in the store. William told detectives when they left the store, his brother Tony directed him to turn onto a specific road instead of going home. According to authorities, while on the road two trucks that were occupied by the three victims passed the brothers. Tony told his brother to make a U-turn and follow them, according to authorities. William told detectives they followed the trucks to the crime scene area and that he stayed in the truck while his brother Tony got out and confronted Keven Springfield. According to a press release, Tony punched Springfield and accused him of stealing his truck. The release says the other two victims, Brandon Rollins and Damion Tillman, got out of their truck and Tony continued to yell at all of them. William told detectives he watched as his brother Tony shot all three victims, according to the sheriff's office. Judd said during a press conference on Wednesday that Tony shot the victims several times, the exact number is still being investigated. Sheriff Grady provides triple murder update | Press Conference Tony and his brother then picked up Tillman and threw him into the back of one of the trucks. After the murders, Judd said the three suspects drove to McDonald's and ordered 10 double cheeseburgers, and two McChicken sandwiches. They then went home and the next day William took his truck to a car wash to clean clay from it. The sheriff's office said on Saturday that one of the victims, Rollins, called his dad for help from the scene. When his dad got there, he found his son barely alive. Sheriff Judd said the victim's dad drove to a close-by gas station to call 911. Deputies responded and found all three victims dead. "This is a horrific scene, I've been to a lot of murder scenes in my life and this ranks among the worst I've been to," Judd said on Saturday. The three suspects are facing the following charges. Tony Wiggins First degree murder (Capital felony)Tampering with evidence (F-3)Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (F-2)Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon (F-2)William Wiggins Tampering with evidence (F-3)Accessory after the fact of capital felony (F1)Mary WhittemoreAccessory after the fact of capital felony (F1)All three suspects have first appearance hearings at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.
