SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Marine veteran has just set out on a grueling walk across the country. Gunnery Sergeant Roy Wesley Brady Jr. retired from the Marine Corps after 22 years of service. On Monday, he left San Diego for New Jersey.It is a journey that will take about half a year to complete, and it is not the first time he has made the intense trek.Check out the story I did with him. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Pacific Beach woman is appealing for tips after a hit-and-run driver struck the motor scooter she was riding, leaving her with serious injuries.On Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m., yoga teacher Fallon Lev was headed to a yoga studio, riding her motor scooter on Ingraham Street, when she exited onto Sunset Cliffs Boulevard."Just gotten onto the ramp, going a reasonable speed," said Lev.In a one-lane section, she looked to her left and felt a car right next to her."It bumped me, causing the scooter wiggle back and forth. Instantly, I'm like on the floor, and my whole body is tumbleweeding on the cement. I must have gone five or six times," said Lev.She says the driver kept going. Later, at the hospital came the diagnosis and surgery."I broke my pelvis in two different areas and have these two bars sticking out of my hipbone and a bar straight across," said Lev.She also suffered a painful road rash and a broken tooth. Her road to recovery will be a long one. Lev, a yoga teacher whose income was greatly impacted by the pandemic, is trying to stay positive. The actions of the driver make her angry."I'm trying not to affect it my healing. Of course, it's extremely disturbing and disappointing ... There is no way the driver didn’t see me go down. They actively chose to leave me," said Lev.In fact, Lev remembers feeling like this was no accident. She was leaving traffic on a one-lane section of the roadway."I felt like it was on purpose. I wasn’t going fast enough, and that was my payback," said Lev.Lev is now hoping for tips to track down a hit-and-run driver."The driver deserves to know that’s not the way you treat a human being," said Lev.Lev recalls an older model, maroon sedan, which may have been the car right behind the car that hit her. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego man is back in the U.S. after being held in a Mexican jail since Sunday. Rob Thomas, a Marine veteran and avid surfer, had been kept in custody after Mexican authorities determined he was at fault for a traffic collision that sent four people to the hospital, according to friends and local news outlet Rosarito en la Noticia.Under Mexican law, drivers found at fault in a collision can be detained until they prove they can cover the estimated costs of the crash. Thomas did not have valid car insurance in Mexico, so authorities demanded a cash bond, said longtime friend Mikey “Beats” Beltran. The amount of the bond was negotiated by an attorney representing Thomas, but it could be ,000 to ,000, friends said. “This is without a doubt a traveler’s worst nightmare, ending up in a foreign jail surrounded by people that don’t speak your language,” he said. “They don’t feed the people in detention, and so friends of ours that are down there, they’ve had to feed him daily.”Thomas was in Rosarito on a surf trip. After eating tacos with his girlfriend, Thomas made a left turn in his pickup truck and collided with a passenger van Sunday around 5:10 p.m. on Highway Rosarito-Ensenada near the Las Rocas hotel.Two adults and two children in the passenger van were taken to the hospital, Rosarito en la Noticia reported.Thomas' mother, Pauline Thomas, said the U.S. Consulate provided a list of attorneys, but otherwise not much help."I’ve cried so much, my eyes are almost swollen shut," she said by phone from Kansas. "I need him to be safe. He’s my baby."Friends scrambled to come up with the money to get Thomas out of custody and launched a GoFundMe campaign.“The passenger van, they’re saying that thing is worth ,000. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Palomar College student told deputies he wanted to cause a mass casualty shooting at the school and carry it out in April to commemorate the Columbine High School shooting.Team 10 has learned the student is the same person who made threats involving the San Diego County Administration Center last week.10News is not naming the student because no records are showing he’s been charged with a crime at this time.According to court documents obtained by 10News, the student stated to San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies he intended on “targeting the egress walkways by using an elevated point and shooting a firearm upon bystanders.”The court filing, a petition for workplace violence restraining orders, included a Palomar College Incident Reporting Form that stated, “he intended on targeting the egress walkways by using an elevated point and shooting a firearm upon bystanders.” It also noted he “began planning this assault in January 2018 and wanted to carry it out on Friday, April 20, 2018, to commemorate the Columbine High School shooting.”The student didn't have a specific staff member or student targeted but was looking at any bystanders that would be in the area.A spokesperson for Palomar College tells 10News,  1269

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A power outage affected thousands San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the Ocean Beach area and SeaWorld late Friday.The outage was reported just before 4 p.m. It wasn't immediately clear what led to the outage.SeaWorld said the power outage was short lived and only affected the central and west areas of the theme park. No guests were trapped on any rides or injured and all animals were okay, according to the park.UPDATED TRAFFIC CONDITIONSThe outage also hit a portion of San Diego International Airport. Officials say power has since been restored but had affected Terminal 2 and the Rental Car Center.In total, about 15,000 customers have been affected, according to the power company. Crews were able to restore all power as of 5:40 p.m., according to SDG&E. 822
