However, it turns out that Hidalgo wasn't fired. According to Roman Stone Works, he returned to work two days after sharing the meme and then walked off the job on his own last Wednesday.Hidalgo confirms that happened, saying he went in after the text message because he wasn't entirely sure he was fired. However, he quit a few days after returning to work."With the bad blood, I didn't want to work there anymore," he said.Jan Jeffrey Rubenstein, a lawyer representing Roman Stone Works, says the company's owners have been receiving death threats at work and home. They say the backlash is unfair, especially when Hidalgo quit on his own."Roman Stoneworks and its owner and personnel have been subjected to significant monetary damage, as well as threats, profanity and harassment by phone and email," Rubenstein's statement read, in part. "Due to the backlash from these false claims, my client's webpage has had to be removed, and the individuals involved have been inundated with calls and emails.""I never meant for people to blow it up like that or spam their company or defame their name," Hidalgo explained. He might delete the post, but believes the "damage is done."Hidalgo is now waiting to hear if he will get a new job after an interview."Watch what you share sometimes because it could get you in trouble. It can look bad on you," Hidalgo added.Read the entire statement issued by Roman Stone Works' lawyer below. 1436

I congratulate President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris on their victory. This has been a long and divisive campaign, but now it is critical for us all to focus on the very real and immediate challenges facing this nation.— Charlie Baker (@MassGovernor) November 7, 2020 291

In a recent tweet, Elon Musk said his Hyperloop tunnel for rapid transportation is nearly complete. The high-speed tunnel he is building is expected to open Dec.10, according to Musk's Twitter page. It will run under Hawthone, California, near Los Angeles, and transport people between Dodger Stadium and nearly metro stations in less than 4 minutes, according to foxbusiness.com.Musk is making no guarantees about the work his tunneling company, called Boring Company, is doing. On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he said it started as a joke because he hates Los Angeles traffic so much, but then he decided to realize the idea.Musk doesn't see his version of Hyperloop involving stations such as current commuter rails have. His will have small stations the size of parking spaces and involve van-like vehicles as part of the transport. 863

Hurricane warnings are up for some of the Louisiana gulf coast as Hurricane Delta is expected to cross the Gulf of Mexico and strike the state later this week.Hurricane Delta made landfall on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula Wednesday morning and the National Hurricane Center (NHC) expects the storm to continue moving northward and bring "life-threatening" storm surge to the Gulf Coast late this week.According to the NHC, Delta made landfall near Puerto Morelos, Mexico with 110 mph winds, making it a strong Category 2 storm. The Yucatan Peninsula is home to many Mexican resort towns, including Cancún and Playa del Carmen. Belize, a coastal country on the southern part of the peninsula, may also feel effects from Delta.Hurricane Delta weakened to Category 1 status after it emerged off the Yucatan Peninsula into the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday afternoon. As of the 10 p.m. CT Wednesday advisory by the NHC, Delta had top winds of 90 mph.The storm is expected to regain major hurricane status on Thursday, but make landfall as a Category 2 hurricane on Friday somewhere along the Gulf Coast. A hurricane warning was issued late Wednesday for areas from the Texas/Louisiana border to Morgan City, Louisiana. While the center of Hurricane Delta is not expected to be as intense as when the storm had peak winds of 145 mph on Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center expects the storm to grow in size, spreading the impacts over a wide area of the coast. The National Hurricane Center said the growing hurricane will likely increase the storm surge and wind damage threats. Louisiana has taken the brunt of the impact of the 2020 hurricane season. Hurricanes Marco and Laura have already made landfall in the state, causing inland flooding and significant damage along the coast. Hurricane Sally also did significant damage nearby Gulf Shores, Alabama, when it made landfall in September.Between Monday afternoon and late Tuesday morning, Delta exploded from a tropical storm into one of the most powerful hurricanes of an active 2020 season. Only 2005 (with 28) has seen more named storms than the 25 totaled so far in 2020. 2128

In a Sunday evening tweet, the UPS Store sent out a note offering to shred children's letters to Santa. Oops. The tweet read, "If your child addresses a letter to the North Pole, you can leave it with us. We do shredding." A company spokesperson told ABC News the now-deleted tweet was simply meant to highlight the company's shredding service. Unfortunately, that's not how the people of the interned took it. This is the darkest tweet I’ve ever seen https://t.co/tdo2pzMuwW— Dana Schwartz (@DanaSchwartzzz) December 17, 2018 534
