Yousif will be voting for the first time.Yousif told ABC 10News anchor Kimberly Hunt that due to the persecution back in Baghdad and not having the freedom to truly make a difference in election, this election -- to her -- is “precious.”The American system is something everyone all over the world admires, according to Yousif.She said as Chaldean Iraqis, her family finally feels true freedom.Even her parents are sharing her joy because they will be voting in their first presidential election here. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A young man was trapped in his car after a crash on southbound Interstate 15 at I-805 Monday afternoon.The solo-vehicle crash happened about 1:30 p.m. The man went off the freeway and into a tree, leaving his car a mangled wreck.San Diego Fire Captain Steve Salasz described the rescue as a “complicated effort”.Several firefighters used saws to free the man, whose foot was stuck in a floorboard.The man, who was alert and talking during the rescue, was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment.There was no word on his condition but Salasz described his injuries as “severe”.Investigators did not release the cause of the crash. 662

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A stolen Mustang was found abandoned and on fire in Paradise Hills.It happened just before 4 a.m. Monday on Valley Road along State Route 54.The car fire spread to the nearby brush, which made its way up the hillside towards the SR-54.Fire crews had the blaze knocked down in about 15 minutes. No structures were threatened. Investigators believe the car may have been intentionally set on fire. 423

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An unresponsive man was pulled to shore Wednesday after possibly being swept out to sea by strong waves along Ocean Beach's coast.San Diego Fire-Rescue lifeguards responded to reports of the man not breathing at about 2 p.m. at Dog Beach. Lifeguards on jet skis found the man lodged into the rocks on the jetty, according to SDFD Sgt. Bruce Jamieson. He had reportedly been swept about 75 yards from shore, according to SDFD.Lifeguards performed CPR and rushed the man to a nearby hospital, but did not give an update on his condition.Witnesses said the man, who is approximately 50-years-old and from Nevada, may have been chasing after his dog in the water when he was pulled out to sea.A high surf advisory was issued for San Diego County's coastline from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday, bringing large sets and the threat of rip currents to the area's shores.
