WASHINGTON (AP) — Dozens of email accounts at the Treasury Department were compromised in the massive breach of U.S. government agencies being blamed on Russia. That's according to an Oregon Democrat, Sen. Ron Wyden, who says hackers broke into systems used by the department’s highest-ranking officials. Wyden issued a statement Monday after he and other members of the Senate Finance Committee were briefed by the IRS and the Treasury Department. Wyden says that though there is no indication that taxpayer data was compromised, the hack “appears to be significant." In addition, the breach appears to involve the theft of encryption keys from U.S. government servers, Wyden said.“Treasury still does not know all of the actions taken by hackers, or precisely what information was stolen,” Wyden said in a statement.It is also not clear what Russian hackers intend to do with any emails they may have accessed.A Treasury Department spokeswoman declined to comment on Wyden’s statement.Treasury was among the earliest known agencies reported to have been affected in a breach that now encompasses a broad spectrum of departments. The effects and consequences of the hack are still being assessed, though the Department of Homeland Security’s cybersecurity arm said in a statement last week that the intrusion posed a “grave” risk to government and private networks.In the Treasury Department’s case, Wyden said, the breach began in July. But experts believe the overall hacking operation began months earlier when malicious code was slipped into updates to popular software that monitors computer networks of businesses and governments. 1645

A decision on those events will be made later.Disney hopes to open the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks on July 11, followed by Hollywood Studios and Epcot on July 15, but with new safety guidelines and limited crowds.The theme park will require employees and guests to wear masks and get temperature checks at park entrances.In order to keep capacity down, guests will need to make a reservation for park entry in advance. WASHINGTON — Melania Trump has announced plans to renovate the White House Rose Garden — the outdoor space steps away from the Oval Office. President Donald Trump has been using the Rose Garden a lot more lately for statements and news conferences in the age of coronavirus. The First Lady says the renovation will make the garden more accessible to people with disabilities, and make improvements for audiovisual and broadcasting needs. It will also provide improve drainage and conditions for the plants and flowers. “The very act of planting a garden involves hard work and hope in the possibility of a bright future,” the First Lady said in a statement published to the White House website. “Preserving the history and beauty of the White House and its grounds is a testament to our nation’s commitment to the care of this landscape and our dedication to American ideals, safeguarding them for our children and their children for generations to come.”The Rose Garden was first installed in 1962 during the Kennedy Administration. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Several North County residents want their money back from a failed Tiny Home community.  Vista resident Greg Dutton said he and a handful of others simply want their ,000 investments back from Janet Ashforth, the brains behind Habitats Tiny Homes, which was planned for a plot of land between Escondido and Poway.“Sounded like a great idea,” said Dutton.  “A whole bunch of tiny homes.  Community garden.  Community clubhouse.”His excitement turned to frustration when he didn’t like the property Ashforth secured.“Really hard to get to.  Hardly any access roads,” he said.Dutton said Ashforth promised to refund his money if he didn’t like the property. However, Dutton requested the refund after Ashforth went into escrow for the property. He showed an email apparently from Ashforth saying he was too late to ask for the refund but she’d return the money anyway.Dutton still hasn’t received his refund. He and several other investors have filed claims at the Courthouse in Vista.10News spoke with Ashforth by phone. She said the project failed “when 30 people didn’t follow through and now they’re expecting their money back.”  She explained none of her investors ordered their tiny homes or took the next steps to keep the project alive.She argued, “The receipt clearly says you can get your deposit back until we open escrow on the property.”  Ashforth said Dutton requested after escrow opened.“I apologize,” she continued. “However, you should take responsibility for the receipt. I don’t have the money to give back because it was invested in the 0,000 property we’re now trying to sell.”Ashforth said she’ll gladly appear in court but admits the money is wrapped up in an empty plot of land. 1826
