Caesars Entertainment Corporation announced plans Wednesday to bring a non-gaming Caesars Palace resort to beach-front property along the coast of Puerto Los Cabos, Mexico. The 0 million luxury beachfront hotel will be developed by Grupo Questro. Caesars Entertainment will manage the property and receive a licensing and management fee. It is set to break ground in early 2019. The non-gaming luxury beachfront hotel will feature 500 rooms and suites, a 40,000-square foot convention center, a 25,000-square foot full-service spa, three fine dining restaurants, an array of amenities including an entertainment venue, pools, cabanas, fitness center, tennis courts and access to the two signature golf courses. CHEYENNE, Wyoming -- On a windswept road, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, members of 90th Missile Wing from Francis E. Warren Air Force Base are stationed at one of the critical locales to our nation’s defense system. The only marker is a nondescript, square Air Force building tucked away in the farmlands of Wyoming. It is the entryway to a place few of us get to see, and the people who control our most power weapons. This secret locale in Wyoming is home to some of the nation’s nuclear missiles, which are hidden deep underground.First Lt. Ramon Ayoade, the combat crew commander with the 321 Missile Squadron, is constantly awaiting word from the US military's chain of command. He was sitting in front of what can hardly be described as state-of-the-art-looking computers. From a 1960s era console, he and another airman control 10 of our country's 400 nuclear missiles. "We are constantly improving our systems. They are old, but they are 100 percent efficient," he said. The older technology is in some ways by design. It can’t be hacked because it’s not connected to Wi-Fi or the internet.These launch facilities are spread across Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska. Other crews are responsible for missile clusters near Minot, North Dakota and a third near Great Falls, Montana. The missiles are here to deter other countries from attacking the United States or its allies.Second Lt. Seth Hirschauer, the deputy combat crew commander with the 321 Missile Squadron, said there is a chain of command that gives launch orders. "It comes from the President and goes through a few different avenues before it gets to us,” he said.Before nuclear war, airmen must unlock two green lock boxes. Inside the boxes are top secret codes used to make sure a launch command is legitimate and a key needed as part of the process to arm and then send the missile into the air..According to Lt. Hirschauer. two people, each using both hands, are required to launch a missile at the "enable panel." As a safeguard, another crew must do the exact same thing in an identical capsule a distance away.In a simulation, they reenact turning the keys simultaneously to demonstrate how a launch would occur.Within seconds of an actual missile launch, the missile silo door in a nearby field opens and the missile is launched. This team fired an intercontinental ballistic missile last year to prove the process works. It landed in the ocean without a nuclear warhead onboard.In case of a nuclear war, these airmen have enough food to survive for months.The launch capsule where they're sequestered, is actually suspended in a way that if an adversary were to drop a bomb or something above ground, it would violently shake this area but the whole capsule can move and still stay intact.There are massive blast doors, about a foot thick, to help keep the men inside safe.Topside, missile security forces are responsible for making sure no one can physically access the missiles.Master Sgt. Eric Sterman, the flight chief with the 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron, said, "It's very important (to train) because there is a nuclear weapon out here. We have to insure our people can get out here and neutralize any threat that might come out here and try to take our weapon."Though a takeover hasn't ever occurred, the men methodically train as many as eight times a month, knowing full well other countries would love to get their hands on the United States' weapons. "It's something we should keep in mind sir. There is that threat and that responsibility," Master Sgt. (KGTV) - Police are on the hunt for a reported prowler in the North County, accused of peeking into homes - and entering them on occasion - as residents slept.Carlsbad Police (CPD) released a sketch of the suspected prowler (above), described as a Hispanic or Caucasian male, who has reportedly been looking into windows while residents sleep.Police said the suspect entered a residence on at least two occasions through an unsecured window. CAPE CORAL, Fla. - It all started with a high school assignment.Megan O’Grady says she had to write about a topic that she felt passionate about in her life.As the daughter of a law enforcement officer who had recently learned of the deaths of five officers during a 2016 protest in Dallas, it wasn’t hard for her to share what she was feeling at the time.That paper would soon turn into a passion project and the nonprofit, Blue Line Bears.Four years later, the group has dispersed more than 700 teddy bears - sewn with the uniforms of fallen law enforcement officers and given to loved ones that have been left behind.“Taking that uniform shirt and making it into something that can be held and cuddled...it gives them comfort and a little bit of their loved one back,” the 18-year-old tells FOX 4.She says prior to this year, Blue Line Bears filled five to ten requests per week from agencies across the country.“Now, it can be up to like 20 or 30”.Megan’s father is Master Sergeant Patrick O’Grady with the Cape Coral Police Department.He says agencies from all over reach out to the group for bears.O’Grady says they also use the website Officer Down Memorial Page to keep track of impacted families.According to the site, there was 148 line of duty deaths in 2019.This year and at the time of this story, the website reports that the number is already 247.The site says most of those deaths are related to COVID-19 and gunfire.“At any time, we can have over 100 shirts waiting to be turned into bears,” O’Grady says.With an increase in demand comes the need for an increase in space.That’s why the nonprofit is now expanding to an official location in Cape Coral.Megan says the new space will serve as a place to hold meetings and a go-to location for the community to purchases merchandise.She says she's most excited that it will also provide a bigger workspace to prepare the keepsakes that bring support to many families.Because as Megan, now in her first year of college, says, “There’s always a lot of bears to be made.”The O'Gradys say the new location will be complete by the end of the year.The address for the new storefront is 3032 Santa Barbara Boulevard.Click here for more information about Blue Line Bears.This story was first reported by Shari Armstrong at WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida. 2315

(AP) — Mars is about to get its first U.S. visitor in years: a three-legged, one-armed geologist to dig deep and listen for quakes.NASA's InSight makes its grand entrance through the rose-tinted Martian skies on Monday, after a six-month, 300 million-mile (480 million-kilometer) journey. It will be the first American spacecraft to land since the Curiosity rover in 2012 and the first dedicated to exploring underground.NASA is going with a tried-and-true method to get this mechanical miner to the surface of the red planet. Engine firings will slow its final descent and the spacecraft will plop down on its rigid legs, mimicking the landings of earlier successful missions.That's where old school ends on this billion U.S.-European effort .Once flight controllers in California determine the coast is clear at the landing site — fairly flat and rock free — InSight's 6-foot (1.8-meter) arm will remove the two main science experiments from the lander's deck and place them directly on the Martian surface.No spacecraft has attempted anything like that before.The firsts don't stop there.One experiment will attempt to penetrate 16 feet (5 meters) into Mars, using a self-hammering nail with heat sensors to gauge the planet's internal temperature. That would shatter the out-of-this-world depth record of 8 feet (2 ? meters) drilled by the Apollo moonwalkers nearly a half-century ago for lunar heat measurements.The astronauts also left behind instruments to measure moonquakes. InSight carries the first seismometers to monitor for marsquakes — if they exist. Yet another experiment will calculate Mars' wobble, providing clues about the planet's core.It won't be looking for signs of life, past or present. No life detectors are on board.The spacecraft is like a self-sufficient robot, said lead scientist Bruce Banerdt of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory."It's got its own brain. It's got an arm that can manipulate things around. It can listen with its seismometer. It can feel things with the pressure sensors and the temperature sensors. It pulls its own power out of the sun," he said.By scoping out the insides of Mars, scientists could learn how our neighbor — and other rocky worlds, including the Earth and moon — formed and transformed over billions of years. Mars is much less geologically active than Earth, and so its interior is closer to being in its original state — a tantalizing time capsule.InSight stands to "revolutionize the way we think about the inside of the planet," said NASA's science mission chief, Thomas Zurbuchen.But first, the 800-pound (360-kilogram) vehicle needs to get safely to the Martian surface. This time, there won't be a ball bouncing down with the spacecraft tucked inside, like there were for the Spirit and Opportunity rovers in 2004. And there won't be a sky crane to lower the lander like there was for the six-wheeled Curiosity during its dramatic "seven minutes of terror.""That was crazy," acknowledged InSight's project manager, Tom Hoffman. But he noted, "Any time you're trying to land on Mars, it's crazy, frankly. I don't think there's a sane way to do it."No matter how it's done, getting to Mars and landing there is hard — and unforgiving.Earth's success rate at Mars is a mere 40 percent. That includes planetary flybys dating back to the early 1960s, as well as orbiters and landers.While it's had its share of flops, the U.S. has by far the best track record. No one else has managed to land and operate a spacecraft on Mars. Two years ago, a European lander came in so fast, its descent system askew, that it carved out a crater on impact.This time, NASA is borrowing a page from the 1976 twin Vikings and the 2008 Phoenix, which also were stationary and three-legged."But you never know what Mars is going to do," Hoffman said. "Just because we've done it before doesn't mean we're not nervous and excited about doing it again."Wind gusts could send the spacecraft into a dangerous tumble during descent, or the parachute could get tangled. A dust storm like the one that enveloped Mars this past summer could hamper InSight's ability to generate solar power. A leg could buckle. The arm could jam.The tensest time for flight controllers in Pasadena, California: the six minutes from the time the spacecraft hits Mars' atmosphere and touchdown. They'll have jars of peanuts on hand — a good-luck tradition dating back to 1964's successful Ranger 7 moon mission.InSight will enter Mars' atmosphere at a supersonic 12,300 mph (19,800 kph), relying on its white nylon parachute and a series of engine firings to slow down enough for a soft upright landing on Mars' Elysium Planitia, a sizable equatorial plain.Hoffman hopes it's "like a Walmart parking lot in Kansas."The flatter the better so the lander doesn't tip over, ending the mission, and so the robotic arm can set the science instruments down.InSight — short for Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport — will rest close to the ground, its top deck barely a yard, or meter, above the surface. Once its twin circular solar panels open, the lander will occupy the space of a large car.If NASA gets lucky, a pair of briefcase-size satellites trailing InSight since their joint May liftoff could provide near-live updates during the lander's descent. There's an eight-minute lag in communications between Earth and Mars.The experimental CubeSats, dubbed WALL-E and EVE from the 2008 animated movie, will zoom past Mars and remain in perpetual orbit around the sun, their technology demonstration complete.If WALL-E and EVE are mute, landing news will come from NASA orbiters at Mars, just not as quickly.The first pictures of the landing site should start flowing shortly after touchdown. It will be at least 10 weeks before the science instruments are deployed.
