A candidate for mayor in a Texas town outside Dallas is facing voter fraud charges after allegedly sending in 84 applications for ballots.Zul Mohamed is a mayoral candidate in Carrolton. He now faces 25 counts of knowingly possessing a ballot with intent to defraud and 84 counts of providing false information on a voting application, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.Paxton’s office alleges Mohamed “obtained a virtual mailbox using a false identity, forged at least 84 voter registration applications for unwitting Denton residents and had them sent to a fraudulent location.”When he was arrested, Mohamed was reportedly in the process of stuffing envelopes with additional mail ballot applications for a nearby county.County officials began their investigation after Denton County officials noticed several absentee ballots were being mailed to the same post office box, according to the Texas Tribune.It is not clear from the investigation if any ballots were actually cast or mailed in.If Mohamed is found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison. 1081

A bodyguard for Las Vegas resident and champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was shot on Monday in Atlanta, according to multiple reports.A police spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that it appears that Mayweather's three-vehicle convoy was targeted. Mayweather was not injured in the shooting. The bodyguard, Gregory La Rosa, was shot in the leg. He was treated at a hospital in Atlanta and released. La Rosa has worked for Mayweather since 2014.Mayweather and his group was traveling from a club to a luxury hotel around 2 a.m. Monday when another vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire.Mayweather is in Atlanta to promote his Showtime-televised triplehead in Las Vegas on Saturday night. A brazen and violent armed robbery in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood was caught on camera.Police are looking for two men accused of robbing a man outside his apartment complex on W. 10th and Thurman Avenue.The suspects demanded the victim to get on the ground.When the victim didn't get down on the ground right away, the two men fired off two shots, one landing near his feet and another near his head.The two men got away with the victim's phone, credit cards, keys and cash.The owner of the nearby apartment complex whose security camera caught the whole thing on camera is outraged."It angers me, completely angers me because I want these people caught." 683

A hospice patient in Kentucky arrived at his son's season opener football game in style. His hospice nurse arranged for a plane to fly them to Belfry High School after realizing it would have been too dangerous in his condition to drive.For Scott Sullivan, being able to watch his son, Cade, play one more time under the Friday night lights was a once in a lifetime opportunity."I got out of a couple of hospitals and realized I had a really rapid form of cancer that left me really not many places to turn," Scott said.Since he got home, Jerree Humphrey, a nurse at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, has been taking care of Scott. Over the past few weeks, the pair have bonded over their kids. "He was asking me if I felt like he could go to Belfry. I was like, 'I don't know,' I mean seven or eight hours in the car, between here and there, and then back," Humphrey said.Driving being out of the question, Humphrey knew she had to do something. "One of our hospice mottos is you might not be able to change the outcome, but you can affect the journey," Humphrey said.So, Humphrey found someone to fly them down to Belfry High School to watch Cade play in Pulaski County High School's season opener."Him being there, it might be the last game he will ever watch me play in, and it meant a lot to me. I played my heart out; I played as hard as I possibly could," Cade said.The whole game, Scott was in the stands cheering on his son. Cade ran over and hugged him."My son and I, we made an agreement. If it's going to happen, we are going to make it.
