LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an internal affairs investigation into a front desk officer's response in the aftermath of rapper Nipsey Hussle's murder.The department's Office of the Inspector General confirmed Monday an investigation was underway.Grand jury testimony shows the woman who drove the alleged shooter, Eric Holder, from the scene had gone to the 77th Street station because her car was on the news. She was turned away by a desk officer who told her not to worry about it.The woman was able to speak to detectives later. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fire early Friday destroyed a Southern California distribution facility that was used to ship items to Amazon customers. Authorities said employees got out and there were no reports of injuries. The fire briefly closed a nearby freeway as flames shot high into the air. The fire started around 5 a.m. Friday in Redlands, about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The flames that engulfed the structure spread to some of the many truck trailers parked at loading docks. A misdemeanor count also alleges elder abuse.Authorities say Morgan sought to capitalize on the Marvel Comic mastermind's wealth and exert influence over Lee even though he had no authority to act on his behalf.Police say Morgan pocketed more than 2,000 from autograph signing sessions Lee did in May 2018. Authorities say Morgan at one point also took Lee from his Hollywood Hills home to a Beverly Hills condominium "where Morgan had more control over Lee."Lee's daughter said in a request for a restraining order last year that Morgan was manipulating the mentally declining Lee, preventing him from seeing family and friends, and trying to take control of his money and business affairs.Attorney Alex Kessel has said Morgan has never abused or taken advantage of Lee. Kessel said in an email on Saturday that he had been in contact with prosecutors to arrange for Morgan to surrender on Tuesday."It is unfortunate that the DA and police did not honor our commitment to surrender next week and arrested him," Kessel said in an email.Lee died in November at the age of 95.Morgan's bail has been set at 0,000. Lorenza Marrujo is 67 years old and less than five feet tall — but she's no weakling.An intruder recently confronted Marrujo at her seniors apartment complex in Fontana, California. Not only did she protect herself, but her neighbors, too."As he was coming towards me, I said, 'back off.' Right away," Marrujo said.Marrujo has 26 years of martial arts training, so when she told the intruder to back off, he listened. Unfortunately, he made his way to the apartment of 81-year-old Elizabeth McCray — Marrujo's neighbor."He grabbed me and shook me, and I went down on the floor," McCray said.Marrujo heard McCray's screams and went to help."I squeezed myself between her and him. I put mama on the side, and I jumped on him, and I was punching him and everything," Marrujo said. "And I had the cane against his throat."Marrujo said she didn't want to kill him, so she held him down with her hands."He lifted up and tried to twist my hand. At the same time, I twisted his and turned it around real fast," Marrujo said. "And he was saying, 'you're hurting me, you're hurting me.' And I said, 'I don't care. I don't care what happens to you. You had no right to hurt an elderly person.'"McCray was stunned by her neighbor's bravery."I didn't expect that little lady would be that brave," she said. "I was trembling. I grabbed her by the leg. I said, 'could you be careful; you're gonna kill us.' She said, 'not tonight.'"Police later arrived on the scene and took the intruder into custody.
