(KGTV) - Naval Criminal Investigative Services announced Friday the arrests of two additional Marines and a sailor, bringing the total of troops suspected of human smuggling and drug-related offenses to 19. Sixteen of the service members were taken into custody Thursday at Camp Pendleton during Battalion formation, a gathering of some 800 troops, U.S. Marine Corps officials said. An additional eight troops were questioned about drug offenses unrelated to the arrests, said Maj. Kendra Motz, 1st Marine Division Communication Strategy Operations Director. Byron Darnell Law II and David Javier Salazar-Quintero on July 3 near the Tecate Port of Entry, according to a federal complaint . Both men are charged with smuggling “for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain,” the complaint said. Agents said three undocumented immigrants got into the Marines’ vehicle on Interstate 8, according to the complaint. A "very bizarre" car crash in Canada resulted in the arrests of five people who were found naked after the collision.On Monday, officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called to the scene of a crash involving a car and pickup truck in Nisku, Alberta, according to CBC News.At the scene, officers arrested three adults and two "youths." All five were naked when police caught them, according to the Edmonton Journal.The crash apparently happened after police said the suspects kidnapped three people — a man, a woman and an infant — from a home and forced them into the car. The man, who was apparently locked in the car's trunk, managed to escape the moving vehicle and flag down a man driving a pickup truck.CBC reported that the passerby managed to get all three kidnapping victims into his truck and was driving them away when he was rammed by the suspects, which forced his truck into a ditch.None of the victims were injured in the ordeal.The kidnapping suspects have not been named and it's unclear why they were naked at the scene of the crash. A Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigator described the incident as "very bizarre" to The Guardian.The two underage suspects were released without charges. A 14-year-old boy is in custody on suspicion of shooting a teen in the arm at a Southern California high school Friday morning, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.The shooting happened at or near Highland High School in Palmdale around 7 a.m. PT, even as some students still were arriving at school, sheriff's Capt. Darren Harris said.The names of neither the suspect nor the wounded teen, also 14, were immediately released. The injured teen brought himself to a hospital and is expected to recover fully, Harris said. 541

A "major explosion" was reported Sunday night by the BBC in the English town of Leicester, causing damage to a convenience store and killing at least four people. Four other people remain in the hospital, and one of those four had serious injuries, according to the BBC.
