A 36-year-old Washington woman is claiming that a DNA test she took on Ancestry.com showed that her biological father was her parents' fertility doctor, the Washington Post reported. According to the Washington Post, Kelli Rowlette's DNA test claimed that she had a parent-child relationship with Gerald E. Mortimer, a fertility doctor in Idaho. Rowlette said she did not know her mother used artificial insemination. The doctor had diagnosed Rowlette's father with low sperm count and her mother with a tipped uterus. Mortimer recommended inseminating Rowlette's mother with sperm from both her husband and an anonymous sperm donor. According to the Washington Post, the couple asked for a donor who was at least 6-foot-tall, in college and had brown hair and blue eyes. Mortimer had told her parents that he used a match for the sperm donation. Mortimer did not meet Rowlette's parents standards for sperm donation. Mortimer was also listed as Rowlette's delivery doctor, and signed her birth certificate. (KGTV) — Searches skyrocketed for "San Andreas Fault" following Friday's magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Southern California.Despite this, the second quake to hit the San Bernardino County area in as many days was more than 100 miles away from the fault zone.The 6.4- and 7.1-magnitude earthquakes near Ridgecrest on July 4 and 5 were along two other fault lines, according to USGS seismologist Lucy Jones. A 12-year-old boy and his 7-year-old relative are safe after taking a family SUV on a joyride from New York City to the Delaware border, according to police.Authorities say the children took off in a Range Rover from a Queens home in South Ozone Park just before 9 a.m. Monday.With the 12-year-old at the wheel, police say the children crossed the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and drove through New Jersey.They were stopped by authorities at a rest stop on the New Jersey-Delaware border, according to police.Investigators say neither of the children or any other drivers were hurt during the incident.This story was originally published by staff at WPIX. 660
(KGTV) - The nation responded Saturday after a mass shooting at an El Paso Walmart, with people asking how to help the victims. The El Paso Police Department tweeted “blood needed urgently” hours after the shooting, due to the multiple victims at El Paso hospitals. Vitalant in El Paso, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit blood service providers, sent 90 units of blood to one of the two hospitals. Several other hospitals requested additional blood, the group reported.
