SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than 32 years after a double murder in Ramona, the suspected shooter has been arrested.San Diego Sheriff's Department says the deadly shooting occurred just before midnight on June 7, 1987, at a Ramona apartment on B Street, just behind Main St. Witnesses told deputies a family was having a birthday party for their four-year-old daughter when one of the guests, 27-year-old Jose Angel Solorio, got into an argument with several people.Solorio left the party angry but returned to the apartment with a gun and shot three men, identified as German Aviles, Ventura Aviles, and Carlos Holgin. German and Ventura Aviles did not survive the shooting.RELATED: 35-year-old cold case murder linked to San Diego manAfter the shooting, deputies learned that Solorio had fled to Mexico.It wasn't until April 2002 when Solorio appeared back on the radar for authorities. Homicide detectives located a family member in Texas who said she had contact with Solorio about two years prior and he was still in Mexico.FBI and U.S. Marshals Service continued working the case and in March 2019, Solorio was finally located and detained in Mexico.Friday, Solorio was extradited to San Diego and jailed on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Nearly 6,000 San Diego workers have reportedly been laid off amid the coronavirus outbreak, but the actual number could be 60 times higher, according to officials at the San Diego Workforce Partnership. The agency estimates there are at least 350,000 San Diego workers at risk of losing their jobs, the majority of them in service sectors like hotels, restaurants and retail, where there is no option to work from home. However, the state has eliminated the 60-day public layoff notification requirement amid the outbreak, so it is unclear how many people are no longer working. RELATED: San Diego County property tax bills still due in April, despite COVID-19"Right now in the short term it's supporting people through this very, very dire and scary time, and hopefully providing them with the hope that this will change and to hang in there," workforce partnership CEO Peter Callstrom said Tuesday. The partnership is now taking a multi-pronged approach to getting people back to work. It is focusing on finding employers who have a need today, such as those in delivery, transportation and logistics. It is also working with Amazon to set up mobile job expos. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One man is dead and another injured after a shooting in City Heights Saturday night. 31-year old Dionte Floyd was killed and 38-year old Dashe Wallace was seriously injured, police said. Wallace's condition was unknown as of Sunday afternoon.According to police, the shooting happened around 6 p.m. on the corner of El Cajon Boulevard and 52nd Street. Police said two groups were involved in a fight when someone started shooting. Two of the men were shot several times before the suspects left the area. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to try to figure out what happened and find the suspects involved. 641

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two people were stabbed in the San Diego River Tuesday night. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 500 block of Morena Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. between Old Town and Linda Vista.After the stabbing, the suspect, only described as a man wearing a white shirt, fled the scene. Despite a police helicopter and officers on foot, the suspect managed to escape.Lt. Mike Ramsay said the two victims were hispanic men, ages 18 and 19. One was stabbed in the chest and the other in the stomach. They were taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was shot Sunday outside of a College Area smoke shop, according to police.It wasn't immediately clear what led to the shooting, but San Diego Police confirmed that a 20-year-old man had been shot just before 5:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of El Cajon Blvd., outside of Aztec Smoke & Vape Shop.The victim was hit in the leg and chest and taken to a nearby hospital, but their condition was not clear.The area was closed by police for the investigation.10News is monitoring this breaking news.
