BELDING, Mich. — We’ve all likely experienced delays with the post office, but probably not like this. A Belding, Michigan, woman says she just got a postcard on Tuesday that was postmarked 100 years ago.“Yea, that’s a little too slow,” Brittany Keech said about a potential USPS delay in delivering a postcard.When she walked to her mail on Tuesday, she had no idea what she was about to find.“It was sitting right on top of the mail,” she said.It was an old Halloween postcard that was possibly lost in the mail.“I start looking at it and I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s been through some wear and tear,'" she said.You can see just how old it is. There’s a George Washington one-cent stamp in the corner, and a postmark of October 29, 1920.Keech talked about the front of the card that fits with this time of year.“It shows a witch with a cat and and a goose and an owl and says, ‘Halloween greetings. Which would you rather be? A goose or a pumpkin head?’" Keech said.The writing is old and in cursive and addressed to a Roy McQueen on Division Street.The note says:Dear Cousins,Hope this will find you all well. We are quite well but mother has awful lame knees. It is awful cold here. I just finished my history lesson and am going to bed pretty soon. My father is shaving and my mother is telling me your address. I will have to close for a night. Hope grandma and grandpa are well. (KGTV) - A Bonita family has been making gift bags for children in need for eight years and the pandemic this holiday season didn't stop them from spreading joy.Usually the assemblyline forms in Diane Zoura's garage the weekend after Thanksgiving. There's lots of friends, family and food to go around. This year the pandemic pushed them outside, under a tent a week later than planned."We are more spaced out this year, we set up outside, we’re taking temperatures, we’re all wearing masks so we’re just being more safe," Zoura said.They had to delay the event because a family member was sickened with the coronavirus weeks earlier. She said everyone is okay and they wanted to make sure everyone was safe when they did come together.Sunday, they were focused not on the pandemic, but on giving the gift of love and joy, a thousand times over."We’re going to give 400 of them to Build a Miracle and they’re going to hand them out to homeless children in Mexico and then we’re going to be giving the rest to the Polinsky Children’s Center for the foster kids in San Diego." Zoura said they wanted to send more gifts than last year.In 2019, they sent 750 gifts, in 2020 they'll distribute 1,000 and their ambitious goal for 2021 is 2,000 gifts. Baton Rouge Police Officer Blane Salamoni has been fired for violating use-of-force polices in the Alton Sterling shooting, Chief Murphy Paul told reporters Friday evening while also releasing four videos, several of which graphically show Sterling as he lay dying.Paul said Howie Lake II, the other officer involved in the July 2016 incident, will be suspended for three days without pay for losing his temper during the incident.The four videos that were released include a convenience store surveillance video, two police-worn body camera videos and a video recorded by the dashboard camera in one of the police cars.Video from Lake's body camera shows the officer approaching Sterling, trying to get him to put his hands on the hood of a car, and eventually struggling with him on the ground. During the altercation, another person, presumably Officer Blane Salamoni, screams, "He's got a gun!" and soon thereafter gunshots are heard.When the officers get up, Sterling is lying on the ground outside the front door of the convenience store with a blood-soaked red shirt.The gun is not visible in the video but Lake tells another officer he put it in his car. The officers had been responding to a call about a man with a gun. The call was from a homeless man who said that after he approached Sterling for money, Sterling showed him the weapon.CNN is reviewing the other videos.The two officers had separate disciplinary hearings Thursday night. Paul said Salamoni chose not to answer any questions at his disciplinary hearing. BALTIMORE (KGTV) - A former television producer for “The Jerry Springer Show” was arrested in Maryland Thursday for the death of her sister in Los Angeles.Baltimore Police took Jill Blackstone into custody on suspicion of murder and animal cruelty at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Police did not reveal if Blackstone was a patient.According to Los Angeles Police, Blackstone put her sister Wendy, 49, and two dogs in a garage in Los Angeles and set the building on fire in March 2015. LAPD investigators said Blackstone wanted to make Wendy’s death look like an accident.Blackstone was motivated by the emotional and financial hardship of taking care of her sister, who was deaf and partially blind, investigators said.Baltimore Police said Blackstone will be sent back to Los Angeles to face charges.Blackstone worked as a producer on programs including “Family Court with Judge Penny”, the Daily News reported.The Associated Press contributed to this report. 962
