VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's Department is asking for help locating a missing man in the North County.Deonicio Sebastian, 67, was last seen Monday at his home on W. Indian Rock Rd. in Vista. SDSO says Sebastian left his home on foot sometime Monday, taking his wallet but leaving his cellphone.Sebastian's family has not had any contact with him since.He's described as a Hispanic man, about 5-foot 4-inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has a receding hairline and dark brown complexion. His family also says he cannot read or write.Sebastian walks with a limp and requires medication every six hours for health issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma. He also has a pacemaker.SDSO said Sebastian commonly walks, or rides the bus or train to various places to run errands, buy food, and go to medical appointments. WASHINGTON — The number of Americans filing for first-time unemployment aid fell to 860,000 last week, according to the Department of Labor. That is down about 33,000 from the week before.The Labor Department also said Thursday that 12.6 million are collecting traditional unemployment benefits, compared with 1.7 million a year ago.However, it does not include claims filed under other federal aid programs, including a program that provides benefits to those usually ineligible like the self-employed or gig workers.Before the pandemic hit the economy, the number signing up for jobless aid had never exceeded 700,000 in a week, even in the depths of the 2007-2009 Great Recession.The economy and job market have recovered somewhat from the initial shock of the coronavirus pandemic and safety measures. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) --  A California Highway patrol car assisting with construction was hit by a tire just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. The incident, caused when a Chevy Silverado lost a spare tire, happened on the westbound 78 near the Sycamore Avenue, according to CHP. Several people swerved to avoid the tire as it entered the highway, causing at least three crashes. Lanes were closed for a little more than one hour. No CHP officers were injured, but the patrol car was towed from the scene. At this time it's unclear if the driver of the Silverado knew that the tire was lost.  637

WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Jim Mattis says he plans to visit the U.S.-Mexico border, where troops are helping erect barriers and performing other tasks in support of border security.Mattis gave no details in a brief comment to reporters Tuesday, but ABC News sources said he would be in Texas.About 5,800 active duty troops are assigned to the border mission.
