??Just a little alert to the world: the sky randomly turned dark today in S?o Paulo, and meteorologists believe it’s smoke from the fires burning *thousands* of kilometers away, in Rond?nia or Paraguay. (AP) — President Donald Trump’s campaign has requested a recount of votes in the Georgia presidential race, a day after state officials certified results showing Democrat Joe Biden won the state. Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger certified the state’s election results on Friday. Those results showed Biden beat Trump by 12,670 votes out of about 5 million cast. Republican Gov. Brian Kemp then certified the state’s slate of 16 presidential electors. The Trump campaign sent a hand-delivered letter on Saturday to the secretary of state’s office requesting the recount after an election fraught with unfounded accusations of fraud by Trump and his supporters. 683

Country singer Chase Rice is facing criticism for playing a concert in Tennessee as COVID-19 cases continue to surge. Rice posted video on Instagram of his packed show at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, which is a music venue about three hours east of Nashville in Petros.People on social media pointed out the lack of masks and social distancing.Kelsea Ballerini was among those calling Rice out, tweeting in part: "Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now." Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now. @ChaseRiceMusic, We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait. ?????♀? https://t.co/eJaLnGu28k— Kelsea Ballerini (@KelseaBallerini) June 28, 2020 The venue says it followed state guidelines, including reducing capacity from 10,000 to 4,000 and requiring temperature checks at the door. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man police say rammed a patrol vehicle while holding a gun prompted an officer-involved shooting in North Park Saturday. The incident began around 9:20 p.m. when police received a call about a carjacking near Maryland Street and Madison Avenue. According to San Diego Police, the victim’s property, including a 2019 Subaru Outback, was taken at gunpoint. RELATED: Man arrested in officer-involved shooting sparked by pursuitPolice responded and found the vehicle on the 1800 block of Washington Street. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene, leading police on a chase. The pursuit ended when the suspect drove off the road at Arizona Street and Howard Avenue before putting the car in reverse and driving toward officers. While backing up, police say the 17-year-old slouched down in the driver’s seat, pointing a handgun at police and prompting an officer to fire his weapon at the suspect. The man continued to back up, slamming into a patrol car, police say. RELATED: Investigating Officers: How SDPD investigates its own after an officer-Involved shooting“The suspect began revving the engine causing several officers to fear the suspect was about to go forward and run over the officer in front of the vehicle. The initial officer that fired, and one additional officer, fired their service weapons at the suspect,” police said. The suspect wasn’t hit with gunfire and surrendered to police. No officers were injured. At this time, the suspect isn’t being identified due to his age. The officers also aren’t being identified, but police say the first officer involved in the shooting is a one-year veteran of the department while the second is a two-year veteran. 1749
