SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KGTV) — A group of Santa Clara County coworkers is more than 0 million richer.The 11 co-workers who pitched  a piece into an office lottery pool successfully matched all the winning numbers of the July 24 Mega Millions drawing.The co-workers, who range in age from 21 to 60, decided to play on a whim after seeing how high the jackpot had reached. We should play.’” Roland Reyes, one of the lucky winners, told California Lottery officials.While the group doesn't regularly have a lottery pool, Reyes seemed to know where to go for tickets.“A small business owner. We’ll probably have a better chance with a mom and pop shop,” Reyes said, leading him to Ernie’s Liquors, at 2808 South White Road in San Jose.Surprisingly, the group plans to continue working. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The chief executive of a California technology company has resigned after the release of a video showing him using vulgar and racist language toward an Asian family at a restaurant. KPIX-TV reports Solid8 CEO Michael Lofthouse resigned from the San Francisco Bay Area tech startup Saturday. Lofthouse issued a statement announcing his departure from Solid8 in which he apologizes and says he plans to enroll in an anti-racist program. SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) --  A man is in the hospital tonight after trying to save his dogs in an apartment fire. The Santee Villas Apartments were roaring in flames Thursday night. One of the residents headed directly into the danger zone trying to save his two chihuahua. Melanie Jaracz watched in horror as her neighbor risked his life climbing through a window."They busted out the windows to that," said Jaracz. "He tried climbing through that and they kept dragging him back. Nobody could get him to come out because he was so worried about his animals."Santee fire crews say it started in a bottom unit and quickly spread to three others around it. First responders tried to revive one of the dogs but it was too late. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.  887

(KGTV) - Traffic at the San Ysidro Port of Entry was left at a standstill for more than an hour following a reported security incident Saturday.Multiple lanes through the port were closed following the find, 10News viewer video showed. Witnesses at the scene told 10News border security officials were reportedly looking into a suspicious object left on the Mexican side of the border crossing.One witness told 10News they had been waiting at least an hour for traffic to open up as of 1:10 p.m.10NEWS TRAFFIC CONDITIONS10News has reached out to Border Patrol officials for more information. SANTEE. Calif. (KGTV) - Two dogs have died after a fire broke out in an East County home.The fire broke out at a home on Big Rock Road and Rancho Fanita Drive just before 2 p.m. Wednesday. The fire started in the home's kitchen, according to Santee Fire Department crews.Neighbors said they first saw smoke and though the fire was in a large field behind the home, before realizing it was in a corner of the house.One neighbor reportedly ran over and called the home's owner, who was not home but told the neighbor her dogs were inside. The neighbor broke a window out and tried to get into the home to save the dogs but was pushed back because of the thick smoke.Santee Fire arrived and broke into the back of the home to put out the blaze. Crews found the dogs and performed CPR and gave them oxygen but they had already died.Crews said the neighbor was right not to enter the home if the smoke was as bad as described. The cause of the fire is under investigation.The owner of the home reportedly lives there with her daughter and son-in-law. 1073
