SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — With another round of coronavirus closures set to begin Saturday, several San Diego County businesses are fighting back legally.Despite the change to California's most restrictive reopening tier, Pacers and Cheetah's adult entertainment clubs won't be shutting their doors. Last week, the businesses won a suit against the county and a judge granted a temporary restraining order allowing them to stay open.An attorney representing Pacers told ABC 10News their argument centered around first amendment rights, and adult entertainment is a protected form of expression. It's unclear if that argument could apply to other businesses, but he added that there are other legal paths to challenging the closures.Another suit has also been filed by a group of San Diego County gyms, but no decision has been made yet.San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar says the legal actions are understandable given the tough situation."Now we're threatening the workforce again we're threatening the closure of these businesses again and I think this is entirely unsustainable for our business community," Gaspar said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two tropical storms bearing down on the Eastern Pacific have forced a Norwegian Bliss cruise ship to abandon its original route and stop in San Diego.The stopover for the cruise ship came just before 7 a.m. Wednesday. The ship was originally scheduled to sail from Los Angeles to several ports in Mexico but was forced to change that route due to tropical storms Willa and Vicente.The new route has the cruise ship heading for San Francisco to San Diego to Ensenada, Mexico. The ship is scheduled to depart from San Diego at 6 p.m. Wednesday.Norwegian Cruise Line said in a statement that guests were alerted to the modified itinerary as soon as possible."Due to Hurricane Willa and Tropical Storm Vincente in the Eastern Pacific, we modified Norwegian Bliss’ itinerary from Los Angeles," the cruise line said. "Our onboard team is working to ensure the best vacation experience possible given these weather-related changes."Tropical storm Willa was downgraded from a Category 5 Hurricane Wednesday, but still made landfall with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Video captured a man smashing display cases inside a Mission Valley mall jewelry store Wednesday evening.The cell phone video given to 10News shows a suspect using whatever he can find to smash a jewelry case inside Zales.The incident started around 2:15 p.m. when a witness saw the man wearing a Padres jersey walking around suspiciously.The witness first saw the suspect take a hat from a kiosk before walking into Champs Sports, taking off his jersey and stealing a Nike jacket.The man then began to untie a pair of shoes on a mannequin in an attempt to steal them. Once he saw people watching him, the suspect left the shoes and ran to the jewelry store.He grabbed a pipe and tried to break open a jewelry case. After the unsuccessful attempt, he then grabbed a mirror and tried to do the same thing.Unsuccessful again, the suspect grabbed a chair and continued to smash the cases until he was able to stuff some necklaces into his pocket.By the time the man broke the display cases, police had arrived on scene, taking the suspect out in handcuffs. 1081
