The House of Representatives is set to begin drafting articles of impeachment on Wednesday following two weeks full of testimony from an array of government officials, including those who conduct foreign affairs with Ukraine. On Wednesday, the House's Judiciary Committee will call upon four witnesses. These four witnesses are being brought in to provide an academic perspective on impeachment. Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler, will call upon Pamela Karlan, a Stanford law professor; Noah Feldman a Harvard law professor; and Michael Gerhardt, a University of North Carolina law professor. Republicans have chosen Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, to provide expert testimony. RELATED: 728

The family of a man who contracted COVID-19 on the Grand Princess and later died is suing Princess and Carnival Cruises, saying the companies should have known passengers on board were sick and should not have accepted more passengers.64-year-old Ronald Wong and his wife boarded the Grand Princess in March in San Francisco, Mexico. A month later, Wong died in a California hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.Wong's wife also contracted the virus, but later recovered. In the lawsuit, Wong's family claims the cruise line and its parent company should have known a passenger on the ship's previous voyage had tested positive for COVID-19.After reports emerged that several passengers had contracted the virus, the Grand Princess docked at the Port of Oakland on March 9. A total of 131 people aboard the ship tested positive for the coronavirus, and five later died. The lawsuit filed by Wong's family is one of roughly a dozen filed by passengers on the Grand Princess and their families.A spokesperson for Princess Cruises said the company does not comment on pending litigation. 1106

The countdown to Christmas is on, but for some people the holidays bring stress and loneliness."My grandma died years ago, but it like always hit us around the holiday because she always made our holiday better," said Tynisha Trice of Milwaukee."The most holiday blues I get is wanting to do nice stuff for my family but not be able to really afford it," Lainey Koch said.People can suffer from stress, anxiety and depression throughout the year, but those feelings can intensify around the holidays."When you're not feeling like celebrating, having the feelings of anxiety and depression are more acute and you feel more different than the society around you, so it makes suffering from that more isolating," said Rachel Henrichs, a clinical instructor at UW-Milwaukee's College of Nursing, "I would encourage people to reach out and let other people that care about them know."For Trice, baking pies like her grandma did around the holidays helps her continue to cope with her loss. Koch, an artist, said she enjoys making handmade gifts instead of buying them.Henrichs advised practicing self care. It could be taking a walk, talking with a friend or getting a massage. She also suggested if you are trying to help someone acknowledge how they are feeling."Be patient with them, be present with them. That's very helpful," said Henrichs. If you experiencing a crisis or need help, calling 211 is good place to start. 1430

The ongoing shutdown is creating uncertainty for tens of thousands of low-income tenants who rely on the federal government to help pay their rent. The Department of Housing & Urban Development hasn't been able to renew roughly 1,650 contracts with private building owners who rent to poor Americans. Another 550 contracts are set to lapse in February. Those contracts cover around 130,000 households, who have an average income of ,000 a year. Many tenants are elderly or disabled. With no sign of the shutdown ending soon, HUD has asked landlords to draw on their reserves to cover any shortfalls. The 691

The North Carolina Board of Elections voted unanimously on Thursday in favor of holding a new election in Congressional District 9 after an investigation into election irregularities.Mark Harris, the Republican leading in the contested 9th District race, said Thursday a new election should be called. He told a state board Thursday he does not condone the activities that have come to light after testimony this week and he feels that the public's confidence in the process is shaken.Harris' call on Thursday was a dramatic reversal from his previous stance that the election board should certify the results of the election, in which unofficial tallies have Harris winning 905 more votes than his Democratic opponent.Harris had 742
