BEIJING, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Tuesday that China is ready to expand cooperation with Latvia, as he met in Beijing with Solvita Aboltina, chairperson of the Parliament of Latvia.
He called on business circles and think tanks of the two countries to have closer communication to promote a stable and sound development of the China-U.S. cooperation.
Recalling Chinese President Xi Jinping's successful trip to Malaysia last year, Li pledged to take the opportunity of commemorating the 40th anniversary to strengthen political trust with Malaysia, enhance strategic communication and cooperation, and enrich the China-Malaysia partnership.
ASEAN supports and is willing to take an active part in the building of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. ASEAN will expand exchanges with China in culture, tourism and education to increase the friendly sentiments between people of the two sides. ASEAN wants to work with China to address traditional and non- traditional security challenges and enhance disaster reduction and relief capacity.
With the theme In Pursuit of Common Security: Peace, Mutual Trust and Responsibility, the forum discussed security issues in the Asian-Pacific region, the Middle East and Central Asia, as well as nuclear nonproliferation. With about 500 participants, the forum concluded on Sunday.
