SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The first-ever professional sports event to be held on an active military base will be held in San Diego this February.As a special thank you to the military, the San Diego Seals pro lacrosse team will play a regular season game on the flight line of MCAS Miramar on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, against the Vancouver Warriors. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The mother of a missing San Diego State graduate is offering a ,000 reward to find him.Wesley Billingsly, 24, was last seen in June. A San Diego Police flyer indicated he was prepared to meet friends and never arrived.Billingsly earned a degree in business administration and marketing from SDSU. He traveled to his native Sacramento and earned money for his return to San Diego, his mother Christel told 10News.Christel Billingsley said her son was looking for a job and wanted to save on rent. After June 1, he did not have a permanent address and started couch-surfing at friends’ homes in Pacific Beach.Wesley and his Ford Expedition disappeared June 12. “It’s completely out of character,” said his mother.Christel paid her son’s phone bill and described him as a social media junkie. About two months ago, the phone stopped showing activity.“Everything stopped on June 12. He just vanished off the face of this earth,” Christel said.Christel is employed as a school officer manager in Sacramento and recently returned to her job after summer break. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The National Weather Service warned of minor coastal flooding ahead of a King Tide set to hit the San Diego County coastline Monday and Tuesday.The event forced the agency to issue a beach hazards statement from Sunday night through Tuesday evening.Surf will begin to build late Sunday, peaking Monday and Tuesday. By Tuesday night, the surf is expected to diminish, the agency said.High tides Monday will be 6.9 feet at 8 a.m. High tide on Tuesday will be 6.8 feet at 8:40 a.m.The agency warned that the King Tides will create water run-up into some beach parking lots and other low-lying areas.Beaches most prone to flooding include Sunset, Seal, Newport, Oceanside, Cardiff, La Jolla Shores and Imperial Beach.Elevated surf will also create strong rip currents and dangerous swimming conditions, the National Weather Service says. 861

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Food and Drug Administration has recalled several types of tattoo ink after determining they were contaminated with bacteria. One of them is the popular black ink made by Dynamic Color. The FDA found that two of their lots tested positive for microorganisms. The recall includes all bottles of Scalpaink SC, Scalpaink PA, and Scalpaink AL basic black tattoo inks manufactured by Scalp Aesthetics. One lot of Color Art’s red Solid Ink-Diablo was also included. Tattoo shops across the country were contacted through their local health departments about the recall. One of the largest tattoo parlors in San Diego, SD Tattoo, says they got the email Wednesday morning and immediately searched through their inks.They did have the Dynamic black ink, but tattoo artist Nicki Ninteman said, "We checked all the lot numbers and all of ours are clean, so we’re good."She said they didn't have either of the other two brands in the shop.According to the FDA, people who have been tattooed with contaminated ink can experience rashes or lesions of red papules. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on kids, as they have been stuck at home for school and for play. However, a second-grader from the College Area is putting his time to good use. Seven-year-old Max Kelley came up with an idea to help feed those in need. Max and his younger sister Lucy were playing out in the backyard when he approached his mom with an idea of wanting to start a business."He wanted to do a water recycling business," says his mom Lauren. "So we went around collecting water bottles and cans. We went around to high schools, the bay, and the beach. Every week, we would return it to the recycling center, and we would get the money."And while some kids might take the money to buy something for themselves, Max wanted to do something completely different, and completely unselfish. His first thought was to think of others, and how the money might benefit somebody else."I realized that there are people in need," says Max. "And need food and water." His mother wasn't surprised at all, describing her son as very caring."He came up with the idea himself, and that was to donate the money to a local food bank," Lauren said.So the day before Thanksgiving, Max, Lucy, and the family donated their collection of 8.43 to the Special Delivery Food Bank in Mission Hills. "My family and the kids all got a standing ovation from all the patrons that were there," says Lauren.One check has been delivered, but Max is definitely not finished giving to those in need. As he and Lucy have plans to raise even more money for the food bank. "It made me feel happy," Max said. 1616
