On a lake in Bedford County, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency officer Darrell Bernd, who goes by the nickname "Bones," has formed an unlikely friendship with a wayward goose.While on duty in July, Bones found the goose tied up in fishing line, unable to get free. He freed the goose from the fishing line and brought it back to health. A co-worker gave the goose the name "Honk.""Thirty-four years ago I was hired out here just to mow grass," Bones said. "Now, here I am babysitting a goose."The best Bernd can tell, someone had Honk as a pet that imprinted on humans before the goose's owner turned it loose, unable to fend for itself in the wild.Ever since he rescued the goose, the two have been like birds of a feather, with Honk now following Bones around wherever he goes."I've actually had him following me for almost a mile," Bones said.Starting Wednesday, Goose has become Facebook famous, with his own page on the social media platform.As a wildlife expert, Bones is encouraging Honk to hang with his friends in the wild. Honk has begun spending more time with a flock of geese near Bedford Lake, sometimes gone for days at a time. Bones wants to get Honk used to the wild, so he can live on his own.But while Honk is still around, he and Bones are teaching us all something about what's good for the gander."Just a little act of kindness, that’s all it took," Bones said. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego Humane Society is asking for the public's help in solving an animal cruelty investigation. Around 5:30 p.m. on April 29 Humane Officers received a call about a loose goat running in and out of traffic at the busy Oceanside intersection of College Boulevard and Marvin Street.Oceanside resident Scott Palmer made the call when he noticed the goat on his commute home. “I literally told him to sit and stay, don’t know what I was thinking but I tried to distract him, and then he followed me to my car," said Palmer.Palmer described him as being as friendly as a dog.A Humane Law Officer picked up the goat and then received surveillance video of the incident. The footage shows two people abandoning the goat and driving away in a 4-door, white pickup truck.“It’s ok for you to come to us, please don’t abandon your animals when you can bring them to San Diego Humane Society and we'll take care of it for you," said Dariel Walker, with the Humane Society. She says if you cannot afford the fee, the Humane Society can still help. (KGTV) - An Oceanside homeowner got a shock at work when his phone alerted him to intruders inside his tented condo.James says around 5 in the morning in late September, his heart dropped when the security alert showed him a real-time image: an intruder, wearing a headlamp in his 11-year-old daughter's bedroom."Seeing a stranger in my house, especially my daughter's room, is very nerve wracking," said James.His daughter wasn't home. No one was. His condo, along with the entire Pamilla Del Oro community was wrapped in a fumigation tent. That day was the last of a three-day fumigation.As it turns out, the burglars had sliced the tent and removed a screen before making an appearance on James' phone. He called 9-1-1. Police showed up soon after."They set up a perimeter and called the guys out. One came crawling out," said James.James showed 10News a photo of that man handcuffed. Two other intruders captured on by the cameras got away. None of them wore masks. They didn't take much from the home, only a few fishing knives."We took our valuables out before the fumigation," said James.
