SINGAPORE, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Singapore on Friday for a state visit to the Southeast Asian country at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan Keng Yam.
Bilateral trade between China and the 16 CEE countries reached over 60 billion U.S. dollars last year amid sluggish global economic growth, indicating tremendous trade and investment potential, Li made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the fifth economic and trade forum between China and CEE countries.
At the press conference, Xie highlighted China's other initiatives to curb greenhouse gases such as a nationwide carbon emissions trading market to be launched in 2017.
China's preparations, Xi told world leaders, will be focused on innovating upon growth patterns, improving global economic and financial governance, boosting international trade and investment, and promoting inclusive and interconnected development.
The MoUs signed today showed the determination of China and the five CEE countries to synergize their development strategies to better facilitate major cooperative projects, said Chen.p Major cooperation projects between China and the CEE countries are moving ahead steadily. The Belgrade bridge over the Danube has been completed and opened to traffic, marking the completion of the first major project undertaken by China in CEE countries.
