SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — California Highway Patrol investigators are correcting their initial findings of a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 in February.In March, CHP said 35-year-old Justin Callahan was at fault for the fatal collision on the northbound I-5 transition ramp to westbound I-8 on Feb. 26 just before 2 a.m.Investigators had believed Callahan, driving in a Volkswagen Jetta, was traveling eastbound in the westbound I-8 lanes when he collided with a Toyota Camry on the transition ramp — a finding Callahan's family had contested.RELATED: Family disputes CHP's details of I-5 wrong-way crashCallahan died at the scene while two female occupants inside the Toyota suffered major injuries.Friday, CHP said they've now concluded the Toyota was traveling in the wrong direction when it collided with Callahan's vehicle on the ramp.Investigators also said the driver of the Toyota, 22-year-old Lauren Freeman, was found to be under the influence at the time of the crash.Freeman turned herself into San Diego Superior Court Friday. That dream retirement has suddenly been marred by worries about COVID-19 and a possible presidential action. According to published reports, President Trump is weighing rules to allow border officials to temporarily block an American citizen or legal permanent resident from entering, if there is reason to believe the person has coronavirus."Absolutely upsetting, absolutely upsetting," said Les Widd, 70.Details about the possible plan are unknown, but Widd has heard enough."It's violating your constitutional rights to receive treatment in your own country," said Widd.Widd says if either of them were to develop symptoms, they would have few options. Their hospital in Rosarito isn't accepting COVID-19 patients."In Tijuana hospitals, they are absorbing everything from surrounding towns. They're at the limit. Difficult to get a bed there," said Widd.Both the Widds have go-to hospitals in San Diego where they've received past treatments. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Bagging vegetables, opening boxes, organizing volunteers.Every month the parking lot at Unity Church in City Heights becomes a mini grocery store."Without this service a lot of people wouldn't even have a plate on the table to be able to say I had my meal today," said Chanae Jackson.Jackson started this food distribution several years back, partnering with Feeding San Diego to make it possible.She also found others who wanted to give back, including her friend Dede Jackson."You have hungry babies at home these places help they help they help feed your family," Jackson explained.Both women know how appreciated the groceries are because in addition to volunteering, they also take home food.They tell ABC 10News there's always been people lining up, but since COVID-19 hit, those lines have grown.
