Xi hailed Ecuador as an important country in Latin America, saying that bilateral ties have witnessed substantial development in recent years.

Chinese President Xi Jinping wrapped up his visit to Ecuador on Friday. Xi arrived in the Ecuadorian capital of Quito Thursday afternoon for a state visit to the country as part of his third visit to Latin America since he took office in 2013.

China has committed to the "two centenary goals," pegged to the 100th anniversaries of the CPC and the People's Republic of China.

He added the central government, the SAR government and Hong Kong society need to "strengthen their faith, adhere to the bottom line, staunchly safeguard and make sure the practice of 'one country, two systems' in Hong Kong keeps pressing ahead along the track of the Basic Law."

Chinese companies have also developed Ecuador's national emergency response system ECU 911. The public security service system, equipped and built by Chinese companies, played a vital role in the rescue and relief efforts.
