President Donald Trump has warned that countries doing business with Iran will "NOT be doing business with the United States" as his administration reimposed sanctions on Iran Tuesday. In an early morning tweet, Trump described the measures as "the most biting sanctions ever" and warned they would "ratchet up to yet another level" in November, when US sanctions on Iranian oil will be reimposed."I am asking for WORLD PEACE, nothing less!" Trump added. 461

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police are describing in detail another night of conflict between protesters and federal forces outside the U.S. courthouse in Oregon’s largest city. A department statement says police officers were not involved as federal forces repeatedly came out to disperse a crowd that broke a fence and set a fire outside the federal building. President Donald Trump has decried the demonstrations, saying police in Portland had lost control and he deployed federal agents. Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf has blasted the protesters as “lawless anarchists." But city and state officials say they didn't ask for the federal forces to intervene in protests against racial injustice that have gripped Portland for weeks. Portland Mayor Tom Wheeler said Sunday that federal officers are not wanted. Oregon’s attorney general is seeking an order to stop federal agents from arresting people. These statements come after reports that federal forces are driving around in unmarked vehicles and detaining demonstrators.Democratic leaders in the U.S. House are asking for federal inspectors general to investigate federal law enforcement involvement in trying to quell nightly protests in Portland, Oregon, and other cities. Lawmakers from New York and Mississippi said actions by federal law enforcement agencies are working to suppress First Amendment protected activities in Washington, D.C., and Portland. The city has seen nearly two months of nightly protests since the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. 1541

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - A rash of water balloons turned ‘missiles’ have shaken up drivers on roadways near Highway 67 in Poway.Ron Woodard was heading home from work on Poway Road around 9 p.m. Tuesday. He was going about the speed limit - 55 miles per hour - when he saw the headlights of an oncoming vehicle as it drove past him."All of a sudden my windshield explodes. Glass is flying. Glass flies in my face. Luckily, I had my glasses on," said Woodard.Woodard, a trucker by trade, maintained control. He was only feet from a cliff."It shocked me, like being slapped in the face," said Woodard. He pulled over when he could safely do so, and checked out the damage."The water was dripping down the middle of the glass," said Woodard.Water, as in a water balloon. "When I saw this my anger just went out the roof. I could have lost control. I could have rolled my car," said Woodard.Woodard's wife posted details on Facebook, leading to reports of four other similar incidents in the Poway and Ramona area in the past few weeks, including two others that same night."One lady said it was a truck, and it was a water balloon," said Woodard.Another driver discovered ice chunks after he was hit, apparently from a frozen water balloon. "They need to understand they could kill someone," said Woodard.Anyone with information on the cases is asked to call the Poway or Ramona Sheriff's substations. 1403

President Donald Trump plans to cast his ballot in person on Saturday, taking advantage of Florida’s early voting period. The White House says the president will vote in West Palm Beach, a short drive from his Mar-a-Lago private club, and, as of 2019, his official residence. The club is located in the town of Palm Beach, which doesn’t have any early voting locations.Trump moved his residence to Florida a year ago from New York, citing his frustration with New York’s political leadership. He also hoped it would give him a boost in the critical battleground state. His path to another term in the White House is virtually nonexistent without a repeat victory in Florida. 681

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - He's got sticky fingers and a green thumb. A business owner says his Poway office has been repeatedly burglarized by a thief who steals plants, among other things. The man snatched succulents and pilfered a large plumeria in his latest visit to the Poway business on Adrian Street near Midland Road on Wednesday around 11:30 p.m., according to owner Tom Belway. The grab-and-go gardener also disabled a surveillance camera and removed sensor lights, he said."This is the sixth or seventh time they have swept the property for any 'loose' items," Belway wrote on social media. "Previously they stole propane tanks, rocking chairs, construction materials and plants. One visit they had all of our outdoor furniture staged at the fence but they must have been interrupted."Down the street at the Park Church on Midland Road, pastor Andrew Henneforth said his church has been hit twice over the past two weeks. He said in the first incident, someone broke into a camper trailer and stole landscaping equipment and propane tanks. The second time, the thief hopped a fence and took a bicycle. There was a skateboard and drugs left behind, the pastor said."In this situation, am I a victim? Sure," Henneforth said. "But in some ways he's kind of a victim as well -- to addiction, to substance abuse."The church added security cameras after the second incident, he said. It's not clear if the two cases are related. Investigators tested a bottle of root beer left at church for DNA, the pastor said.Anyone with information should call the San Diego Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers. 1602
