LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A local city councilman is making a desperate plea for tips tonight after his wife was attacked outside their home. It happened just off Palm Street after 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A disturbing picture of the incident was painted in a Facebook post by Lemon Grove City Councilman David Arambula. He writes that his wife was "brutally attacked' while going to the trash can. He adds that the attacker, "opened our gate, then hit her over the hit her over the head with a block of wood. This was completely unprovoked and unexpected."One neighbor described her as traumatized, conscious and suffering a head wound. Deputies say the 38-year-old woman escaped into her home, while the man ran off. The motive remains a big mystery. Neighbors say they've had issues with people wandering the area, high on something."There is a sober living facility a few blocks away. We've had a few incidents of people in their own zone, yelling and screaming - but nothing violent," said neighbor Tim Bossard.Arambula posted on Facebook that his wife is "getting better."The attacker is described as a black man about 30 years old, 5'9", and 175 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, dark denim shorts, high socks, white shoes, sunglasses and a blue hat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A cyclist says he narrowly escaped injury after finding a camouflaged 'booby trap' on a popular trail along Lake Hodges.Steven Lennox made the discovery minutes into his bike ride Friday afternoon on a trail in the San Dieguito River Park. He was taking photos that afternoon, so he was going slower than normal and stopped when he saw the shadow on the ground."It was a shadow line all the way across. I looked up from there and I saw the ivy," said Lennox.But the ivy wasn't the only thing stretched across the trail. "As I got closer, I saw the rusty wire," said Lennox.In several photos he took, the ivy is seen intertwined with barbed wire and tied to a tree."Three to four loops ... had to weave it though. Somebody spent some time putting it together," said Lennox.The barbed wire appeared to be pulled from an old fence and camouflaged with a nearby vine."When you're being deceptive and hiding something, that's being cruel," said Lennox.The wire was strewn across at a height that would hit a cyclist in the chest or neck area."I don't think someone would have enough speed to cut their head off, but somebody could snap a neck," said Lennox.The discovery was made along a trail popular with cyclists, hikers and horseback riders. Rangers didn't find any similar hazards on the trail and tell us there haven't been any similar incidents in the past. The company does not have a policy against identifying whistleblowers by name and is not removing the posts.Some of the stories identifying the person came from the conservative news site Breitbart, which Facebook counts as one of its news partners in a newly launched news section on its app. However, the company said it was also removing identifying posts on the whistleblower from Breitbart.In a statement, Twitter said it prohibits the sharing of "personally identifiable information about any individual, including the alleged whistleblower." Wednesday's record was smashed a day later, with 105.2 Fahrenheit recorded, according to the UK's Met Office."They called the police to get them out of there, because the container was locked from the outside," a spokesman for Antwerp's shipping police told CNN.The police were in for quite a surprise.
