(KGTV) -- A woman traveling with her daughter was arrested after Border Patrol agents found nearly 30 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in her car.The arrest and seizure occurred July 21 during a traffic stop on northbound Interstate 5 in San Clemente, Customs and Border Protection officials said.According to CBP officials, an agent patrolling the area stopped a 2003 Honda Accord and asked the 38-year-old female driver for permission to search the car.After obtaining permission, the agent’s K-9 was alerted to something, prompting an in-depth inspection. The agent then found 28 bundles of meth inside the Accord’s gas tank.CBP officials said the bundles, weighing a total of 28.88 pounds, all tested positive for methamphetamine. The drugs were turned over to the DEA, and Border Patrol agents seized the car.Agents arrested the woman, a U.S. citizen; her six-year-old daughter was placed with child protective services. 933

(KGTV) - Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said the department will not hesitate to shut down border crossings for security as the migrant caravan made aggressive moves to enter the United States from Mexico Sunday.A large number of migrants attempted to breach the fence and sought to harm CBP personnel by throwing projectiles at them, according to Nielsen.“DHS will not tolerate this type of lawlessness and will not hesitate to shut down POEs for security reasons. (KGTV) - A proposed bill moving through California's legislature would — hopefully — eliminate fears of an awful driver's license photo.SB-1407 would allow drivers to have the ultimate say in their license photo. The bill would let drivers take up to three pictures at the Department of Motor Vehicles and then choose which one they like best.Drivers would also be allowed to have their photo taken outside of the DMV by a pre-approved photography center.RELATED: California DMVs now taking applications for Real ID driver's licenses, identification cardsWhile all of this sounds great for drivers who loathe their license photo, it could come at a cost. The bill says there would be an extra fee for each additional photo but didn't specify how much. (KGTV) - A destructive fire which caused .5 million in damage to the Off Road Warehouse in Kearny Mesa was arson, federal investigators announced Friday. Flames destroyed the business and 12,700-square-foot building at 7915 Balboa Ave. on March 28. San Diego Fire-Rescue investigators requested help from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to determine the origin of the fire. The fire is now an ongoing criminal investigation, the ATF said.
