View this post on Instagram I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused. In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country. They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character. This is where I stand: I stand with the black community in the fight against systemic racial injustice and police brutality and support the creation of real policy change that will make a difference. I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today. I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community. I recognize that I am part of the solution and can be a leader for the black community in this movement. I will never know what it’s like to be a black man or raise black children in America but I will work every day to put myself in those shoes and fight for what is right. I have ALWAYS been an ally, never an enemy. I am sick about the way my comments were perceived yesterday, but I take full responsibility and accountability. I recognize that I should do less talking and more listening...and when the black community is talking about their pain, we all need to listen. For that, I am very sorry and I ask your forgiveness. DUBLIN, Ireland – St. Patrick’s Day is normally associated with large crowds of green, but celebrations may be a bit muted this year due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Cities are beginning to cancel their St. Paddy’s Day parades in response to the outbreak of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus.The Ireland government announced Monday that it is canceling all of its parades, including the Dublin parade, the largest in the country. “Due to the unique nature and scale of the St Patrick’s Day festivities, in terms of size, the mass gathering of local and international travelers, and the continued progression of community transmission in some European countries, along with the emergence of a small number of cases of local transmission in Ireland, the Government has decided that St Patrick’s Day parades, including the Dublin parade, will not proceed,” 884

In a world of digital games, there’s a group of people who prefer to keep it old school.Their game of choice: pinball. "We play in a league; the Chicago Pinball Authority League,” said competitive pinball player Eric Meunier. “There are 32 active participants." Competitive pinball is growing in popularity, and its headquarters is in Chicago. "This is where a lot of the best players in the world are," Meunier said. There are over 200 pinball arcades in the city, and countless leagues. The Chicago Pinball Authority League was started by Kent Zilch. In order to understand his passion for pinball, you have to go to his basement. It all started with one machine. "Then, we bought a second, then a third, then a fourth…,” Zilch said of his pinball machine collection.Now, Zilch owns more than 60! His basement is now his permanent practice area. "We like a mixture of old pinball machines with the new ones, too,” he says. “So, if you look around, there are machines all the way back to the 60s." The newest game added to his collection is The Munsters. The games also bring the family together. Zilch’s wife and children are also on his league. "We come down here probably four or five times a week," he said. When it's pinball season, they all practice together. Zilch says they usually begin in January and go through August. "We have two divisions; we have an A division and a B division,” he said. “And whoever wins a division, wins a really cool trophy." Each game has its own set of rules. But with four people to a machine, there is one goal: rack up the most points. “You go to each game and then you get points based on what place you come in," Zilch said.The competition keeps him and his family and his team coming back to the flippers, but so does the fun. 1791

Four days every week, Bill and Brenda Bowman pack food for Meals on Wheels. It’s a national program that empowers communities to address senior isolation and hunger by delivering nutritious meals to those who are homebound and can’t make food for themselves. Bill and Brenda became volunteers in 2011. “We started honestly in what we think is obedience to the Lord. And as we did that, we were rewarded. We have met some awesome people,” said Meals on Wheels volunteer Brenda Bowman. Seniors in isolation often experience loneliness. It’s becoming one of the biggest threats to seniors.
