SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to send a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom requesting they be allowed to reopen the local economy.The board voted 4-1, with Supervisor Nathan Fletcher voting "no," to take further steps into reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The community of Barrio Logan welcomed residents to shop in the streets after months of coronavirus’ impact. Saturday, Aug. 4, the “Walk the Block” event debuted. Local businesses got permits to move service outdoors to the sidewalk, and the event celebrated the community’s resurgence of business with food, specialty items and music.Business owners like Stephanie, who runs Dreamers and Hustlers Company, a clothing shop with items branded toward the namesake, said the past few months have been hard, but she’s confident Barrio Logan shops will bounce back.“Even during these times we figure out ways we can pick ourselves up and get going again,” she said.Edgar Flores said his shop, Maxa Market, sells products made by local small businesses and entrepreneurs. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance video captured a group of thieves in action, targeting mail in Paradise Hills.After 11 p.m. Sunday on Grove View Road, the videos show a woman stroll by, a man and another woman following close behind.The group splits up. The two women are seen on one side of the road, glancing around.On the other side is the backpack-toting man, who appears to peer inside a mailbox.Soon after, a car pulls into Amanda Sewell's house.The women walk by and watch Sewell's aunt walk into the home, before possibly signaling the man.The man then walks up to Sewell's mailbox, grabs a bundle of mail and walks away. 642

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The City of San Diego's Development Services division is still investigating the platform that collapsed at a Barrio Logan gym this weekend and injured 21 minors and a few adults. At least one minor is still in the hospital with a broken pelvis, we're told.A city spokesperson reported to 10 News on Tuesday that no further details would be released until the investigation is complete.On Monday, the spokesperson said there were definite code violations and missing permits at Vault PK parkour gym, where the incident happened. Whether the gym will face any penalties is still unknown. The gym has only been open for a few months. On a Facebook post, it appears much of the construction of the facility was done by the owner's immediate family.  On Monday, San Diego Police Department's media relations division confirmed that the incident is a civil matter and the department will not be recommending any criminal charges, including criminal negligence.  There is another Vault PK parkour gym in Torrance. We called the facility today. Someone answered the phone and said the facility is closed for inspections. No further details were given.  1222
