SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Despite skyrocketing prices, San Diego’s housing inventory is up in 2018, according to a new report by Trulia. The trend in America’s Finest City sits opposite the national trend, which is seeing a declining inventory. The national drop in inventory in the fourth quarter of 2018 was mainly driven by a drop in for-sale homes, however, in San Diego, the total for-sale inventory rose by more than 27 percent. San Diego’s trade-up inventory saw the largest increase at more than 46 percent. The report points out that, despite inventory gains in San Diego, prices continue to rise, outpacing wage growth. The trend places homeownership out of reach for many first-time homebuyers. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Get ready for sunny days at SeaWorld this summer, as the cast of a television favorite comes to San Diego.SeaWorld will host Sesame Street favorites including Elmo, Cookie Monster, and others with themed floats, music, and two performances along the parade route during the Sesame Street Party Parade.The parade will feature 10 massive floats depicting the areas kids know and love, like Mr. Hooper's Store and the Count's Castle.More than 20 dancers will jump and jive alongside Elmo down the parade route, along with a cast of furry friends.During the two mid-parade shows, performers will jump rope, hula hoop, and groove to guests' delight. One show will star Rosita, a Sesame Street favorite known for her guitar skills. The parade can be seen on weekends running from May 25 - Sept. 1 at the park. 830

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Dozens of people came out to see a country music concert at Moonshine Beach in Pacific Beach Thursday night.The concert was scheduled before the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks Thursday night.  Brodie Stewart was opening for Colt Ford.Country Music Stewart told 10News ahead of the show he would hold a moment of silence for the victims of Borderline during his show. He also said proceeds from his merchandise sales would also be donated to victim’s families.“It’s hard to talk about because it’s so close for our friends and the country music community,” Stewart said. “It’s been devastating.”Becky Williams, a long-time country music fan, said it’s unfortunate that it was the second attack in a country music venue in just a little over a year.  The Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas in October 2017, was the deadliest attack by a lone gunman in America.  Despite the repeated attacks, Williams said that she didn’t think twice about attending the concert Thursday night.“Heck no, country music is my life,” Williams told 10News.Survivors from the Las Vegas shooting said the Borderline shooting reopened old wounds and churned up former emotions.“I still haven’t been able to really cope with it, and it brought that back up to the surface,” said Kyle Hurd, who survived the Las Vegas shooting.Others shared the same sentiment, saying it was the best place anyone part of the country music could be.“We love that we can get together and mourn together and we understand each other,” Kimberly Burroughs said. 1578

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - For three decades, the Salvation Army has been serving Thanksgiving meals to those in need.This year, it looks a bit different."Just because we have masks and social distancing, their needs haven't changed," said volunteer Elena Misner.Misner says she volunteers on Thanksgiving and Christmas."When I was starting out on my own, the Salvation Army helped me with classes, clothes, services," she said.She says without that initial help, her life might look a lot different."When I got older I found this opportunity," Misner said. "I wanted to give back, so I gave back."In 2020, giving back looks a little different.For the past three decades, the Salvation Army has held large, family-style gatherings inside Golden Hall.But a gathering of that size is not allowed under California and San Diego County COVID-19 guidelines.So, a new idea."It's not inside at Golden Hall but outside with meals and kits to-go," said San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer who was volunteering with meal distribution.Just because it looks a little different doesn't mean the traditional meal needs to change.To-go kits included turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans or corn, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie."It's not just about a meal today, but some of the help and services and support represents the best of our city," Faulconer said.On Thursday, the Salvation Army served meals at four different locations. 1437
