CLEVELAND, Ohio – President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are debating each other for the first time.WATCH LIVE:The 90-minute event will be split up into six 15-minute segments and there will be no commercial interruption. Each of the six segments will be dedicated to a predetermined topic. The Commission Presidential Debates says those topics will include: “the Trump and Biden records, the Supreme Court, COVID-19, the economy, race and violence in our cities, and the integrity of the election.”The topics were chosen by the moderator of the debate, “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace.Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 general election is unlike any other in American history. The threat of COVID-19 has prevented the candidates from campaigning in a way we’ve seen in the past. Trump has still held rallies, but with some precautions taken, while Biden has opted to rely heavily on virtual events and socially distanced speeches.Tuesday night, Trump and Biden will appear on stage together, but far apart and the candidates are not expected to shake hands. The audience will also be smaller than in years past and all in-house spectators will be tested for the coronavirus. This debate will provide both nominees the opportunity to shape the narrative of the election, which has largely been focused on the handling of the pandemic, the push for racial equality, and most recently the vacancy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court.Along with those topics, a bombshell report from The New York Times is sure to be brought up. The “newspaper of record” reported Sunday that it has obtained more than two decades worth of Trump’s tax information. The documents reportedly revealed Trump paid just 0 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017. In 10 of the 15 years before that, he paid no income taxes at all, The Times reports. The president has called the reporting “fake news.”Trump and Biden are getting ready for the debate in starkly different ways. The Washington Post reports that Trump isn’t doing much to prepare, instead relying on his experience at the White House and at rallies. Meanwhile, The Post says Biden is doing more traditional debate prep. After Tuesday’s debate, the American people will have to wait more than two weeks before Trump and Biden face off again on Oct. 15 at a town-hall style debate in Miami. The final debate will be held in Nashville on Oct. 22.Election Day is on Nov. 3. Click here for the registration and early voting deadlines in your state. 2545

Congress has passed the biggest investment in national parks in decades. The House voted Wednesday to approve the Great American Outdoors Act, a sweeping conservation and public lands bill, which President Donald Trump has pledged to sign into law. Over the next five years, it will put up to .5 billion towards a backlog in needed maintenance for roads, facilities and more.“So, the park service, instead of doing band-aid fixes, they will have reliable, consistent funding to start doing some of these priority repairs, to ensure that our park service sites are safe, accessible, and they'll be around for generations to come,” said Marcia Argust, Director of the Restore America’s Parks Project.Argust advocated for the Great American Outdoors Act. She says this is the perfect time to make the investment, because Americans are looking to get outdoors more during the COVID-19 pandemic. The parks service has found the legislation will create 100,000 additional jobs. That's on top of the boost to businesses in surrounding communities that rely on visitors.Plus, the recreation industry as a whole supports 5.2 million jobs.“So, those are really important to sustain now more than ever, so this legislation during these times makes a lot of sense,” said Argust. The bill does not call for using taxpayer dollars. Money is expected to start flowing into national parks in October. 1391

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov's suspensions have been extended indefinitely following the brawl that broke out after their UFC fight earlier this month. The Nevada State Athletic Commission unanimously ruled on Wednesday to uphold the fighters' suspensions until the end of its investigation into the ugly scenes that broke out following McGregor's defeat by Nurmagomdov in Las Vegas. The Commission also voted to withhold half of Nurmagomedov's million purse until a hearing in December.READ: Conor McGregor comeback ends in defeat amid chaotic scenes"I have felt half was a good enough amount of money, to release a million dollars," the NSAC chairman, Anthony Marnell, said during the meeting. "That should cover all expenses, give the fighter some money."At the same time, it's still a very substantial amount of money to be withheld until we can get to the case in December and get all of the testimony or potentially we get a settlement agreement."Who knows how that will go over the next 60 days, but it's enough money to keep this contestant's interest in this hearing."READ: UFC 'never going to change' after trash talk fuels ugly brawlIt comes after Nurmagomedov, who maintained his unbeaten 27-0 record with a comfortable victory over McGregor, scaled the octagon to launch an attack on the Irishman's team after the fight on October 6.Members of the Russian's team also launched their own assault on the beaten McGregor. Three men were reportedly arrested but later released after McGregor refused to press charges. While Nurmagomedov apologized for his actions, he said he had been aggravated by McGregor's pre-fight trash talk, with the Irishman, who had not fought since his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in August last year, making remarks concerning the Russian fighter's family, religion, and nationality."This is a respectful sport, not a trash-talking sport," Nurmagomedov said during a post-bout media conference.READ: Khabib Nurmagomedov threatens to quit UFC after brawlThe pair were previously handed temporary suspensions on October 15 following the ugly scenes at UFC 229.The-CNN-Wire 2135
